The Golden Dragon Warrior || Akatsuki no Yona

Yuri

-I knew it! Kija said and pointed at her accusingly.
-Wait a second.. Yoon said and walked closer to her. He then grabbed a bunch of her hair and pulled it to the side.
-Why did you just pull my hair? She asked and Yoon let go of her hair and stepped back.
-Didn't you say, Shin-ah, that the golden dragon warriors had their power in their ears? Then why doesn't she have scales on her ears then? Yoon said.
-It's pretty simple, the part of the ear that lets you hear things is inside of the head, you don't actually hear with the visible, out sticking part of the ear, she said and smirked. Yoon seemed a little irritated that he hadn't thought of that.
-Now let's put that aside, I'm Yona. What's your name? I asked her.
-It's Yuri, but just so that you know, I won't join you. I try to stay out of the whole dragon warrior thing as much as I can, she said and looked at us.
-How dare you speak to her like that! Kija said.
-Calm down, White snake, Hak said and then dogged all of Kija's punches.
-We won't force you to come with us if you really don't want to, I said and smiled.
-That's good, now, can I go? And I don't want to be kidnapped by some White snake a second time, Yuri said and got up and started to walk away.
-See white snake? She gets it too, Hak said with a huge smile on his face and Kija became even more angry. I'm a little disappointed that Yuri didn't want to come with us, but I guess it's okay if she really didn't want to.
-I'll try to convince her Yona, Jae-ha said, he probably had noticed my disappointed expression.
-But she said she didn't want to, I said.
-I didn't want to either at first, remember? But I'm here now, he said and smiled at me. Somehow, even if Jae-ha is a huge flirt when it comes to girls, I felt a little hope. She was my dragon-blood older sister after all, so it felt a little different to let her slip by then the other four.
-Just don't flirt with her, that will probably lower the chances of convincing her, I said and he made a guilty expression.

The next day Jae-ha walked away on his own to find Yuri and to convince her to come with us. While he was away I practiced on my bow.
-Try to hit that tree over there, Princess, Hak said and pointed at a tree that was around 10 meters away from me.
-Okay, I'll try, I said and aimed at the tree. Then I let my hand go from the arrow and it hit the tree.
-Okay, try to hit the same spot again, Hak said and took out the arrow from the tree and made an X on the mark that my arrow had done. I nodded and took a new arrow and aimed at the X. I let the arrow go and it hit pretty close to the X.
-I see that you are getting better, those 200 arrows you shoot every night are really paying off, Hak said. I nodded once again and was just about to take a new arrow when I heard Zeno yelling.
-Hey guys! Jae-ha is back! Zeno said running towards us smiling and waving his arms in the air.
-Did he get Yuri to join us? I asked Zeno.
-I think you should talk with him yourself.. He said and scratched the back of his head.

When we came back too the inn, we saw that Jae-ha was scratched all over.
-What happened to you? Did you fall off a cliff or something? Hak said.
-No, Yuri did this when I accidentally flirted with her.. Jae-ha said while laughing nervously and scratching the back of his head.
-Jae-ha.. I said to not flirt with her.. I said.

-But it was my only option! She said no to everything I asked her and it was my last chance! He said.
-Yeah right, Hak said, not entirely convinced.
-Since Jae-ha couldn't convince her, I might as well try, I said.
-Are you sure? Yoon asked me.
-Yes, I'll try. Where did you see her before, Jae-ha? I asked him.
-It was at the cafe near the fountain in the middle of the village, He said.
-Okay, thank you, I'll be back soon, I said and walked towards the door.
-I can treat your wounds, just tell me where it hurts, I heard Yoon saying to Jae-ha before I walked outside.

I walked over to the cafe Jae-ha had mentioned and saw that Yuri was still there, sitting at a table with a cup of tea.
-Hello, Yuri, I said and sat down in front of her with a smile on my face.
-What do you want, Yona? She asked me then drank a little from her tea.
-I was wondering why you try to stay out of the dragon warrior things, I asked her and she looked up at me from her tea cup.
-*sigh* Do you really want to know? She asked and her face became more serious.
-Yes, I answered.
-Okay, it's a long story, but just bare with it. When I was younger many people called me all kinds of rude names because of my amazing hearing ability, or just bullied me and said that my parents left me because I was making up the things I heard, so I didn't have any friends. I didn't know why I had such good hearing my self when I was younger. But one day, one girl approached me and became my only friend. And somehow she knew why I had such good hearing and told me that I was the fifth dragon warrior, the golden one. But I didn't believe her of course since there are only legends of the White, blue, green, and yellow dragon warriors and the Crimson dragon. But then, she showed me a old legend book and the legend about the golden dragon warrior, and I finally believed her. But one day, I found out that she wasn't my friend at all. She was the daughter of the leader of a big bandit organisation, and they were after my power. They thought that if they killed me, took my ears and gave them to someone of them they would get amazing hearing too. I told them that it doesn't work if you don't have dragon blood, but they just laughed at me. When they stopped laughing my friend's dad ordered his men to kill me, and I somehow dogged the first mans attack and I took his sword. Since I was the golden dragon warrior, I instantly knew how to to use it because if the golden dragon warrior touches a weapon any of the previous golden dragon warriors were good at, the present one immediately becomes just as good with it. After much fighting I had taken all his men down, and I could see the fear in her and her dads eyes, I mean, how normal is it for one 8 year old girl to take down around 20 well-trained men? Just seconds later the villages guards found us and took her dad down with a poisonous arrow. I couldn't stand the look on her face when her dad fell to the ground. She was crying insanely much, she was probably so sad that she didn't know what to do. It was really hard for me to watch, since I knew that she had lost her mom and her older brother, both killed right in front of her. The guards yelled out that they should take her with them since she was involved in her dads business, but she ran away in time. Before she ran away she whispered something to me, knowing I would hear "This is all your fault, it's your fault my dad is dead". After that I never wanted to come near the dragon warrior things again, Yuri said and looked down.
I was surprised that she also had a bad past, and she must feel really guilty after what her friend said. I reached out my hand and grabbed hers.
-It's okay, I understand that you don't want to get involved with dragon warrior stuff. You're afraid someone else will get hurt because of you, something you can't take back? I said and smiled, and she looked up at me.
-It must've been hard for you to go though something like that at such a young age all alone. But it's okay now, you have me. I'm your little sister related by dragon blood, and I want you to think of the others as your family too, I said and I saw tears starting to form in her eyes.
-You're not alone anymore, Yuri. I'll ask again, do you want to come with us? I asked her with a warm smile and the tears in her eyes started to run down her cheeks.
-Yes, she said and smiled with her eyes closed while tears were still running down her face.
