Not Ordinary

GRACE'S P.O.V.

"What do we have?" Teresa asks slightly annoyed in the room. Wayne immediately replies: "We found the guy that owns the car that has been seen on the crime scene. His name is Mike Hannigan and he had done pretty much bad in his past." "Great.", my boss responses, "Cho and Rigsby, go get him! Grace?" My head pops in her direction when I hear my name. "Could you identify the victim yet?" she asks me, still annoyed but with a tiny smile. I turn to the computer and read out loud. "Yes, boss. Joile Ange, 42. She didn't have a boyfriend. Worked as a waitress in a restaurant called "The Great Gatsby".

"What? Like the movie?" the brunette woman asks and I crack a smile and nod. She laughs a little and tells me to search for a connection between Jolie and Mike. "Okay, boss!"

I love her smile. Her eyes sparkle like diamonds and she's even more beautiful as usual.

Jane interrupts my daydreaming with a "Who are you thinking of, Grace?" This makes me jump a little in my chair and I close my eyes to catch my breath again. "Jane!", I kind of yell out, "You scared the shit out of me!" Although, I can't help but smiling and the consultant smirks too. I turn to the computer again, conscious ignoring his question. But I know he won't let go and a few seconds later the question comes again. "Who were you thinking of?"

I don't look up, trying to hide the blush that rushes on my face. "What makes you think that I was thinking about somebody?" I ask back, instead of an answer. "You rested your head in your hand, looked up in the air, smiled, your pupils were wide and you didn't recognize me entering. So you definetly thought about something. And I guess it's a human you dream about because of the wide pupils. Well except you are in love with an animal or a thing." I laugh and face him. "I'm not in love with a thing. And not with an animal. No worries." The blonde curled man smiles at me. His blue eyes see me, through me. He nearly whispers "Who is it, Grace?" I blush again. "It's not Rigsby. You wouldn't react like that if it'd be him. And I have a feeling that it isn't a man." Now I look down, my palms get sweaty and I feel uncomfortable. He is right. It's not a man.

"Grace? You can tell me. I won't tell anybody. Do you hear me? I'll keep your secret!" He stands up from his couch and knelts down in front of me and tries to look into my eyes. I raise my head and meet his eyes. I could tell him. This bothers me for too long now and there isn't anybody else who would be as understanding as Patrick. "It is.." I begin quiet. "I'm thinking about Teresa."

I don't see a shock in his eyes. Not the slightes sign of disgust. Just joy. But why? The answer comes immediately. "I knew it!" Jane cheers and sits down on his couch again and places his head on it, it looks like he's sleeping. I sit there, pretty astonished about what just happened and then slowly turn to the computer again. I don't expect anything from Patrick but he opens his mouth again. "You two would make a cute couple."

I look at him, shocked. Did he just say that? I thought he is in love with her? "Uhm.." I start and he doesn't look up so I go on. "Aren't you guys.. kinda in love?"

The blonde man turns his head to me and opens his eyes. "Not that I know. I mean I'd know if we were in love. No, no worry, Grace. We're just close friends. She's all yours." He said the last sentence with a teasing sound in his voice and winked at me.

LISBON'S P.O.V.

One or two weeks after we identified the victim, we got the murder and so we are sitting in the headquater with two case-closed-pizzas and Rigsby just told a joke. Everybody's laughing and Grace stands up to get another piece but I take it and hand it to her with a smile. Our fingers touch as she takes it and she smiles back, a little blush comes up her face and I notice that she looks at Jane who seems kind of amused. I look at him, raising my eyebrows questioning but he just gives me one of his 'I-won't-tell-you-anyways-so-just-give-up' smiles and I turn my attention to my pizza again.

Later that evening, Cho and Rigsby said goodbye a few hours earlier, just Grace, Jane and me are sitting in the building and talk about anything that comes up our mind.

Finally, Jane stands up, stretches while he yawns exaggerated to show that he's tired. I roll my eyes at Grace and she laughs her beautiful smile. Her eyes lighten up and her red hair flows over her shoulders. I quickly look away to hide my glance but although I know Jane caught it.

I fear to look in his eyes but I do and he gives me an encouraged smile and a slight, barely noticeable nod in Grace's direction. My eyes dart to an invisible point on the wall to avoid his eyes and I hear his cheery voice "I'll head home now. Good night my lovelies." He steps to Grace one more time and whispers something in her ear. She blushes and looks at me and I watch them confused.

Jane leaves with another wave to us and I look at Grace. "I know it's none of my business. But you looked at me while he whispered something to you. So may I ask what he said?" I shyly ask her and watch her blush again. She closes her eyes, takes a deep breath and stands up. "Teresa." she says quietly and I shiver. "Please come with me."

She takes my hand. Not just my wrists but my hand. Her palm faces my palm and her thumb is placed on my hand back. She leads me to Jane's couch and we both sit down. "I need to tell you something." she begins and looks straight in my eyes. The moonlight and the light of the lamp on the table where the empty pizza boxes are, make her face look more beautiful than it has ever looked. She takes a deep breath again and intwines her fingers with mine. My whole body is covered with goosebump and I look at her, gazing into her beautiful eyes.

"Teresa Lisbon. I know it's wrong. It's against the rules of the CBI and it's not ordinairy. But I love you."

My eyes widen, caused of the sound of this beautiful three words. I look at her and slowly move my head closer to hers. This is what I've dreamed of for so long. She looks at me, excited, a little shocked and then we both close our eyes and our lips gently meet. We both sink in our kiss, my hands carress her cheek and her fingers are digged in my hair.

This is amazing. I've never felt this way in my life. The warmth in my stomach spreads over my whole body and I smile into the kiss.

I hope this moment will never end.
