Chapter 7

After another day at the hospital, Katie was happy to be out of the hospital. "Can't wait to see Hunter" Katie said while sitting next to John. He smiles while driving. "You know, your resting bitch face is disappearing little by little" John teased. "What do you mean?" Katie asked, looking at John. "Well, ever since you met Zak, you seem more happier and giggly" John replied and keeps driving. Katie blushes a little and looks out the window. "Don't tell me? You have a crush on Zak?" John asked. Katie blushes even redder as a reply. "I stand corrected" John said.

Zak's P. O. V
I start getting ready to leave to the airport for our next location. "Zak, did you call Katie?" Aaron asked, looking at me. "Not yet. I'll call her while we're at the car" I replied. Aaron nods and goes to put his stuff in the car. Every time I see Katie smile, laugh, or talk, my heart just kinda stops beating for a second. I don't know what it is. Maybe I'm having a heart attack? Could be, I better talk to the doctor about it. I pull up my phone while getting in the car. Billy starts driving and I FaceTime Katie. I smile as Katie was on the couch with a husky licking her face. "Hey Zak" Katie said, smiling. "Hey. I assume that's Hunter" I said and she nods. My heart stops again. Seriously, I'm probably close to a heart attack. "Where are you going?" Katie asked, petting Hunter. "We're going to visit the Zalud House and we're heading to the airport right now" I replied. Katie had a sad look on her face. "I wanted to see you guys" Katie said. "Don't worry, we'll be home by Friday" Billy said. I smile and she smiles back. "Well, do you want me to dog sit Gracie?" Katie asked, looking at Hunter puts his head in between her uhm chest let's just say. "Sure. The spare keys of my house are under the carpet. You know where my house is?" I asked. "No" she admitted and I tell her my address. "Wait, that's a few houses down from mine. Maybe like two" Katie said. "Really? That's nice" I said, smiling. "Well, I have to go and find your little girl. Bye" Katie said. "Bye" Jay, Billy, Aaron and I said and I hang up. "While she's out of competition, you can take her out, Zak. It seems that you like her" Jay said. I look at Jay. "W-What?" I asked. "You seem to like my lady friend" Aaron replied, trying not to laugh. "That's nonsense. She's my friend" I said, looking at my phone. "Then how do you explain you letting a friend that you just met for almost two weeks in your house to see Gracie" Billy said, smirking. I roll my eyes and get ready to get out of the car.

Katie's P. O. V
I get out of my house with Hunter's leash in my hand. "Time to meet your new friend, Hunter" I said in a baby-like voice while walking towards Zak's house. Hunter wags his tail while walking and sticking his tongue out. I look at Zak's house and it looks beautiful. I grab the key from under the carpet. I open the door and the house on the inside looks...... mysterious. The house had many artifacts that look creepy. "Gracie? Come here girl" I said while walking inside. I lean in a wall and fall as it opens on its own. I took Hunter off his leash so, he was wandering around the house. I scream and gasp for air as I finally stop falling from the stairs. Why do I have bad luck? Hunter barks along with another bark I've never heard before. I look up and see a cute white dog with a big dark spot covering her left eye and little black spots around her body. "What is this place?" I asked to myself while getting up. "A dungeon? This is awesome" I mumble while walking around the dungeon. Hunter and who I assume is Gracie start growling at something. I look at them and hiss as my scar starts burning. I turn around, scream, and run outside. Hunter and Gracie follow me. I start panting. I put my hands on my knees and look at the pool. It looks peaceful. "What was that?" I asked. Hunter whines a little. "I'm fine, Hunter. Let's go get your leashes and other stuff and go back home" I said and we go inside. After grabbing Gracie's stuff, I take her home. She immediately warms up to me and Hunter. But, what was that dark figure towering over me? It looked like Zak but, with a more evil look on its facial features. Also, my scar started to burn. I check my right collarbone and it was red. Strange.
