Chapter 22

"Where's Katie?" Zak asked. His mind immediately wandered to Katie. "She's next to your bed but, she's not talking" Aaron replied. Zak looks to his left and sees Katie's back. "Katie?" Zak asked. Aaron looks at Katie. She turns around and she had a tear stained face. "You alright?" Aaron asked and she nods. "Want something to eat?" Aaron later asked and Katie grabs a marker and white board. She starts writing. "How long has she not talked?" Zak asked, looking at Aaron. "Since the police came yesterday. Her voice was hoarse from screaming that the doctor said she needs to heal her cords. She's basically mute" Aaron replied. Katie throws a pen at Aaron's arm and giggles as he rubs his arm. "Let me see the board, Katie" Aaron said and Katie shows the board to Aaron. In the board, it said: "I want Burger King. Bring me some nuggets and fries. Barbeque sauce though." Aaron nods and Katie watches television. "Want anything man?" Aaron asked, smiling a little. "Yeah, bring me some fries" Zak replied and Aaron leaves. Zak then looks at Katie, gets up, and walks towards Katie. She keeps looking at the television and tenses up as Zak hugs her. "I'm sorry this happened to you. I should've just beaten Ron up" Zak said while crying. Katie hugs Zak back and pats his back. "I'm really sorry, Katie" Zak said while hugging Katie tighter. Katie tries to grab the board. Zak noticed Katie's movement and backs away. Katie opens the market cap and starts writing. He looks at Katie write and hair was falling in front of her face. Zak puts the strands of Katie's hair back in her ear. Katie smiles a little and shows Zak the board. It said: "I should be the one apologizing. I was a bitch when you came to Cali and you tried to protect me from Ron and Maryse." Zak looks at Katie and nods. The doctor comes in and smiles. "Ms. Cena, you need to rest your voice for a while. As of competing in WWE, you need someone to talk to you. You can write a note card on what you want to say" the doctor explained. Katie nods and looks at Zak. "As for you, Mr. Bagans, you are free to go home. I need to run some tests for Ms. Cena and then you can go" the doctor said, smiling. "Thank you, doctor" Zak said and the doctor leaves. Katie looks at Zak and tugs his shirt. Zak looks at Katie to catch her attention. She points towards the door and Zak looks at the door. Aaron was there with food. "Hey, I'm free to go" Zak said, smiling. "Good thing. What about Kate?" Aaron asked, giving Katie a bag of food and a cup of juice. "They need to run more tests and she needs to rest her voice for a while" Zak replied. Katie was eating happily. Aaron smiles and sits on a couch. Zak sits next to Katie and looks at her. She keeps eating and watches television. She was really happy that Zak and Aaron were with her. Billy, Jay, Ashley, and Mark were at the police station getting interrogated about last night's event. "Hey Kate, how's the food?" Aaron asked and Katie gives him a thumbs up. Zak smiles and giggles as Katie was dancing a little. Aaron smiles and records Katie dancing. Katie keeps dancing. She finishes eating and looks at Zak.

Zak's P. O. V
I feel bad that Katie has to be mute for a while. Aaron looks at me and we smile. "Well, we better leave to bring you some clothes" I said and Katie looks at us. She starts writing something on the board and shows us the board. It said: "Alright. Be quick though. I want company." I nod and I leave with Aaron. After 20 minutes at Mark's house, we come back. Katie was fast asleep and I put the bag on a couch. "You go home and rest, Aaron. I'll stay with her" I said. We high five each other and he leaves. I look at Katie and I walked towards her. I kiss her forehead and I go to sit down. She stirs up in her sleep and I made sure she was okay. She was smiling and I smile. "Good night Katie" I whispered and hold her hand. Her hand always looked small in mine. She holds my hand and squeezes it. "I'm here, Katie. You're safe" I whispered. She smiles while sleeping. I'm always lost in Katie. I get lost in her eyes, in her lips, her hair, her curves, and everything else I get lost. I need to solve this Christine problem before something worse happens. "I'll make sure that you're safe, Katie. I won't let anything happened to you. I promise" I whispered, squeezing her hand. Katie keeps sleeping and I cover her with a blanket. I love Katie, ever since I met her....
