Chapter 8

Zak was walking around the house after finishing interviews, feeling uneasy about the house. “You alright Zak?" Jay asked. “Something doesn't feel right in this house" Zak said and pulls out a digital recorder. “If you want to talk, come talk in to this device" Zak said and points the digital recorder. All of them wait for a while and Zak stops recording. Zak puts on replay. “If you want to talk, come talk in to this device" they heard Zak say. “Katie is in trouble" a female voice said on the digital recorder. Zak looks at everyone.

Katie's house
Hunter and Gracie were playing in Hunter's play room. Katie was watching television and hisses as the pain from earlier came back. ‘What the hell is going on?' she thought to herself. Gracie looks up and growls at something. “This is painful" she mumbles and goes to the bathroom. She takes off her shirt and gasps. Her scar looked like it was bleeding a lot. She finds a first aid kit and she heals the wound with rubbing alcohol. “Katie! I'm home early" Katie hears Zak say. She doesn't respond and looks at the door. Katie screams as Zak tears down the door with an ax. “Welcome to my world" Zak said in an evil voice. He walks closer and raises the ax. Katie screams and closes her eyes.....

Katie gasps while sitting up. Hunter and Gracie were licking Katie's hand. “What just happened?" Katie asked to herself. She gets up and goes to make some coffee. “You guys hungry?" She asked to Gracie and Hunter. Both dogs bark and wag their tails. She laughs a little and serves them food and water on their bowls. She grabs a coffee cup and waits for the coffee machine to finish. “Should I call Zak about my nightmare?" She asked to herself.

Aaron's P. O. V
I looked at Zak after we heard the EVP. “Does this place have a connection with Katie?" Billy asked. “I don't know" Jay replied. “We have to figure it out" Zak said. “Want me to call her?" I asked. Zak thinks for a minute. Then, Zak's phone rings and he picks it up. “Hello?" Zak asked. “I'm worried" Jay said, looking at me. Zak walks somewhere private. He looked serious yet scared. What was going on?

Back at Katie's house
“Just calm down. What happened during your dream?" Zak asked while Katie was panicking. “Well, in the dream, I felt a sting and I went to the bathroom. I took my shirt off and noticed that the whole scar had dried blood. Then I heard you saying that you're home early. I didn't respond since I thought a ghost was tricking me. You tore down the door with an ax. You said ‘Welcome to my world' and raise the ax" Katie replied. She was worried that Zak might cancel the lockdown because of her. “I'll see what I can do, Katie. Maybe I'll do the lockdown tonight and head back home immediately" Zak said and Katie calms down a little bit. “You don't have to come back tomorrow" Katie said, typing in her computer. “I have to, Katie. You're my number one priority to be safe along with Gracie, Hunter, and everyone that's around me" Zak said and Katie's heart beats faster. ‘His number one priority?' Katie thought.
