Lilacs and Cookies

They both said they loved me back and then I set the mirror back into my backpack. I was still smiling as I felt a single tear rush down my face.

I thought to myself, 'Wait, what's Liam's last name?," I took out my journal and wrote down what Ariana had told me and then I took out the mirror again. "Hey, Shane, what's the matter?," "Can I talk to Liam real quick?," She handed him the mirror. "What's your last name again? I forgot. And do you got a Twitter so I can get ahold of you?" "Yeah, uhm. Liam Rockwell and ShaneMyDawson." I laughed. "Are you serious? That's a awesome name." He laughed, obviously embarrassed and he said goodbye and handed the mirror to Ariana. "Hey Shane, make sure you write down everything in that journal. That journal is like your memory. The only things you'll remember is the things you wrote down in that journal." "Alright, I pretty much wrote down everything up until my Father." "Okay, well, see you." She smiled and waved. I did the same and put the mirror away. Then I scribbled everything I could think of that happened, down in my journal.

[Lisa's Point of View]

"You have feelings for me?" He nodded. "I know it started out as a prank, and then one thing lead to another. At least we didn't uhm... 'Do it'." I nodded agreeing with him. "I love Shane, Joey, and even if we made out, well, it was an accident. I know it started off as a prank, and I know it didn't end like one, but I love you as a friend, Joey." He nodded, wiping away tears he was trying so hard to hide. "I know you do. It's just, I'm so stressed out. I hope he wakes up. I mean, I don't want him to die, with the last thought on his mind that his good friend slept with his girlfriend." Now I started to cry. "Imagine how Shane feels Joey, not yourself and how you feel. He might not even wake up because of you! Why did you hit him?" I cried out. "I don't know, I just.... kind of... reacted." I sighed. He noticed and I could tell he wanted to leave. "We should go check on Shane. It's been a few weeks, maybe we should see if there's anything we can do?" Joey jumped up. "Alright then, get ready, I'm going to use the bathroom real quick." I nodded and finished up my taco.

[Joey's Point of View]

I walked down the hall, feeling the painted exterior, thinking of the fond memories I had with Shane... And Lisa. "Hey Lisa, are we gonna tell him about us making out?" She was throwing away the taco wrapper. "Yeah, I'm in a honest relationship Joey, and I might not be in one when he wakes up and finds out. But at least I won't have to hide anything from him." "Okay." I said, and continued down the hallway to the bathroom. I had so many emotions on my mind. Stress, love, guilt, confusion. I just need to clear my head. I looked up at the mirror. There was bags under my eyes, and my hair was a wreck. I turned on the faucet and splashed my face. Then I looked in the medicine cabinet for some aspirin. There was a brush, some neosporin and band aids, aspirin, and Shanaynay's lipstick. My heart dropped. What if he loses his memory and he doesn't remember Shanaynay? I suddenly felt so guilty and sick. I stuck the lipstick in my pocket and shut the cabinet. Then I finished up with my business and left to get Lisa.

[Shane's Point of View]

What am I supposed to do? Sit here until I wake up? I tried moving again, my legs were still what seemed, glued to the ground. I sat and waited. Then I squeezed my eyes shut and imagined myself waking up in the hospital room. I imagined waking up and looking over to my left and seeing Lisa. I imagined-

"Shane,"

I opened my eyes.

"Shane, what are you doing?"

My grandmother.

"Grandma!, I haven't seen you in years and the first thing you do is question me." I laughed.

"Ah, Shane,"

She reached in for a hug, I hugged her with all of my might, knowing I wouldn't see her again, and might as well enjoy the moment.
