And Then It Happened

"GOOD MORNING CITY OF SCOTTSDALE!! IT'S GOING TO BE ANOTHER SCORCHER TODAY FOLKS, WITH TEMPERATURE HIGHS IN THE 120's AND- "

Sally rolled over and slapped the radio alarm clock on her nightstand.

It read 7:01 am Sally groaned and rolled back over. Then she remembered! It was Saturday. The Saturday!! The third Saturday before school started up again. And every year on the third Saturday before school started, today, was back to school shopping day!

Sally sprang out of bed and hurried to get dressed.

She stood in front of her full body mirror debating her outfit. Her favorite black high heel boots adorned her feet, dark blue skinny jeans covered her legs, and her top was a fancy, yellow, wide strap, halter back tank. She ran her hands down the loose fitting shirt and stopped where it tightened around her hips. She was kinda tall, with long slim legs and a nice figure.

her stomach was flat, the opposite of her chest and butt. Her friends were always complaining about how gorgeous she was but she never took it to heart.

Hmmm, she thought, we are going to be doing a lot of walking, and it was really hot out, but the mall was all inside and, despite the heat outside, would be quite cool.

She decided against her heels and slipped on her new black vans. After lacing them up she stood and looked in the mirror.

Hmmm, no. She thought

She switched the yellow tank out for her hot pink version of the same shirt.

Perfect! She thought. Now my hair...

Sally groaned and sat down on her bed. Her hair was always a challenge. She hated it, but she didn't dare cut it. She loved it way to much for that. The tapered cut ended just about where her back did. The color was interesting, light brown/ dark carmel, it got gradually darker the closer you got to her scalp but you could barely notice the difference unless she held the ends against the top of her head.

Her hair wasn't all one color, for some reason she had wisps of light blond in her side bangs. It looked like she highlighted them but she never died her hair. It was all 100% natural.

She decided to just put it up in a high pony tail. After running the brush through her hair she pulled off one of the many hair bands she wore on both wrists all the time.

sally headed back over to the mirror for her least favorite part of getting ready. her face. She never really liked looking at herself in the mirror, or at all for that matter. She didnt consider herself ugly, but she didnt exactly consider herself pretty either. Just plain. Normal. Your every day average joe.

But just because she couldnt see her beauty disnt mean it wasnt there. In all honesty she was quite pretty. She didnt have any acne, in fact, she had never even gotten a pimple! The only thing she liked about her face was her eye color. Gray/blue with a darker rim around the outside and right above this little light dots lining the bottom left of her eyes.

She loved that, but not the shape. She thought they looked totally uneven, but nobody else did. She decided against the makeup and walked toward the door. She grabbed her iPhone off the charger and checking for text messages, walked

down the hall.
