Carry on, they say. Bad times pass, they said well its back to school time and I'm no better than I was when I first found out about Shawn. I'm just getting by and when I mean just I mean barely living. This uncomfortable feeling twists and turns in my stomach every time i see a photo of us, every time I thought that this was all real love, I just don't know if I can take anymore of this.
I rushed through the front gates and the entrance to school nearly about running straight to my locker. As soon as I got into the front doors I just peeked around at the garden at the front thinking and hoping that Shawn wouldn't be there. He wasn't, phew we're clear today, more countless days to go. I continued to my first class, down the hall 6th room on the right. Walking through the front door of math class, Shawn's there. I take a deep breath and let it all go. There's no other seat in the whole class, I have to sit next to him. I try to act normal 'it sorta works' I thought to myself but it really wasn't. Shawn looked like he hadn't slept in 20 years, literally. I feel empty and I think I like it this way. Mr. Schemeechie starts the lesson. "Ok class today you will be working in partners to solve the following equations on this worksheet that is being handed out now" Mr. Schemeechie says. I can't actually believe this, he could of chose anyone in this entire class to partner me up with, but no it just had to be Shawn. there was no escaping this one. 'oh shit!' I sigh and quietly say to myself.
At first i tried to do my own work, but he really didn't look good, to be honest he looked even worse than me. "I really don't know what to say, but I'm just really sorry" he tries to say to me very quietly. I'am furious "how about you just say nothing, don't make this harder for the both of us please don't a say a word" I say then walk out of the classroom. I walk out the door and down the hall, I hear Shawn followed me out to the hall. "I can't live without you Elena" he says trying to get me back. I start crying thinking about everything we did together. "I couldn't live without you either, Shawn" I say sobbing. Shawn comes in closer like I had 'suddenly forgave him'. "Shawn, I can't do this, all of this we had was it real? I say. "But that the thing it was, I felt every moment of our love we shared, all the nights under the stars at the movies everything that's why I just can't get over you" he says water filling his eyes. I can't see this happening Shawn, if you really loved me you wouldn't have taken the money, you wouldn't have made a deal with my mum behind my back, its just not love, Shawn" I walk out the front to my car, the whole world slows down and a heaviness feels like it's lifted of my shoulders as I walk to my car and drive away. Shawn frozen like ice, all the colour gone from his face and all emotion too. A single last tear falls from my eye, "goodbye Shawn" I whisper.
