Chapter Eight

Piper walked in the chapel with two duffel bags and set them on the table

"What's this lass?" Chibs asked

"The hundred thousand you need for the Irish" Piper said

"How the hell did you get this?" Chibs asked checking to make sure the money was legit

"The how doesn't matter" Piper smiled

"Our own outlaw boys" Tig chimed in

"Thanks babe" Jax said kissing her cheek

"Anything for you guys, listen I gotta run some errands I'll be home late" Piper said

"Do what you gotta do I'll be home late too" Jax said

Piper walked back out to Jax's truck it had been nearly a month after everything went down with the cartel and the drug business was going great. For once in her life her and Jax felt stable. They had always been stable money wise but thier relationship was better then ever and she was excited

Heading up to Stockton was on her list of things to do today among other things. Gemma had asked her to pick up a roast for tomorrow's dinner at the market up in Stockton

Gemma and Piper had a strange relationship, being so much alike they constantly battled for who was the stronger woman, Jax always found it funny the way the two would spit words at eachother with a smile on thier faces

Piper looked in the rearview mirror as a black van sped up from behind, before she could press on the accelerator the van clipped the bumper on the truck causing the truck to spin in a complete 360 before rolling onto its side three times

Coming to a rest on the roof Piper struggled to unbuckle herself, she looked in the side mirror and saw someone walking towards the truck, trying to free herself before the person got to the truck, she reached over and grabbed her knife she cut her seatbelt and freed herself, falling hard onto the roof quickly exiting the truck through the passenger window cutting her stomach on the way out from the glass

Piper stood up and saw a masked man standing before her with the barrel of the gun resting on her forehead

"You Tellers old lady?" He asked, his voice was deep

"Yes" she stammered out. Piper rarely got scared of anything, nothing scared her more then a gun resting on her head

"Come with me" He said grabbing her arm and dragging her to the van as she kicked and screamed hoping someone would hear her

Jax walked in the house around seven, wondering where Piper was he knew she was going to be late but he assumed that she would of been home to cook dinner

Chibs ran into the house not even knocking

"Jackie boy we got a problem" Chibs said finding Jax in the kitchen heating up some food

"What is it?" Jax asked

"It's piper. Your truck was found on its roof out on sixty seven" Chibs said

"Where's Piper?" Jax asked not even caring about the microwave beeping

"We don't know, trammel said there was no one present but they found some blood Jackie" Chibs said

"Call the guys, see who we have beef with" Jax said putting his kutte back on

"She's a strong girl brother she's gonna be fine" Chibs said

Jax and Chibs rode to the site where the truck was still overturned

"Hey guys were waiting on the tow truck" Trammel said

"What happened here?" Jax asked

"Well it looks like your truck was hit and it flipped, there's skid marks about hundred feet back" Trammel said pointing towards the marks

"Jesus" Jax said running a hand over his face

"Looks like she escaped though the seatbelt was cut" Trammel said

"And let me guess no one saw a thing" Chibs said

"No a soul. The road was blocked with a barrier on both sides until about three hours ago" Trammel said

"This was an ordered operation Jackie" Chibs said

"We need to find her" Jax said

"We will Jax don't worry" Chibs said

Piper opened her eyes, she was freezing, she sat up and noticed she was on the side of the road in a ditch

She looked down and her shirt was covered in blood, lifting up her shirt she noticed a twelve inch gash across her stomach she patted her pants down to see if she still had her phone but it wasn't there

Standing up she made her way to the road to get help

A blue older style Impala pulled over and the window rolled down

"You need some help mama?" He asked

"I need to get to st Thomas" Piper scratched out

"Get in I'll get you there we aren't far" he said

"Name's Nero Padilla" he said pulling back onto the road

"Piper, Piper Teller" she said

"Like Jax Tellers old lady?" Nero asked

"Yeah" Piper said

"Here his number is in my phone we've been doing business up in Stockton" Nero said handing Piper his phone

"Your the pimp?" Piper asked

"No mama I'm in the escort business" Nero laughed

Piper dialed Jaxs number

"Hey Nero what's up" Jax said into the phone

"It's me" Piper said

"Babe are you OK? Why are you with Nero?" Jax asked

"He's giving me a ride to st Thomas I woke up on the side of the road" Piper said

"I'll meet you there" Jax said as he hung up

"Your man talks very highly of you" Nero said

"I didn't know he spoke about me concerning work" Piper said

"Mama you all he talks about" Nero said as they pulled into the emergency department of St Thomas

"So Mrs. Teller tell me what happened?" The doctor asked

"Someone hit my truck and it flipped and I climbed out of the window that was broken and I sliced myself on it" Piper said as they began cleaning her wound

"Any metal by chance?" She asked

"Maybe? I'm not sure" Piper said wincing

"Ok were gonna run a few labs and check your records and see if you need a tetanus shot" she said

Jax came busting into the room.

"Settle down sparky I'm fine" Piper said as Jax smothered her with kisses

"I thought someone had you" Jax said resting his forehead against hers

"Well they did but I don't remember much just waking up" Piper said

"We will figure out who did this" Jax said

"I need to get out of here, I need a beer" Piper said as the doctor walked into the room

"Mrs. Teller no drinking for you" she laughed

"Why you putting me on pain meds? I can still drink and take those I've done it before" Piper laughed

"You can't drink if your pregnant" she smiled

Piper and Jax looked at eachother and then at the doctor

"Pregnant?" Both Piper and Jax said at the same time
