Chapter fourteen

Piper walked through the house wondering where Jax was it was almost four in the morning, he hadn't been home in two days. Things over the last two years had gone south between Jax and Piper. Jax threw himself more into the club and was now managing the brothel that him and Nero established, business was great for Jax, he was bringing home a steady cash flow as the escort business was booming but he was sacrificing his family completely

Only coming home every few days to see the kids and hand Piper loads of cash, they rarely spoke to eachother and when they did it was constant arguing between them after the kids went to bed always resulting in Piper crying herself to sleep after Jax stormed out of the house, she barely knew who he was anymore Jax wasn't the same person she married or wasn't even the same person two years ago when they brought the twins home from the hospital. She always narrowed it down to when Abel and Abby were both kidnapped and were found in Belfast shortly after they were allowed to come home, or it could of been when she had to have surgery after having thier youngest son John having to have a complete hysterectomy afterwards because they found cancerous cells in her uterus

Jax pulled his pants up and looked over his shoulder

"meet me back here later darlin?" Jax asked

"Of course baby" she said

"Maybe we can grab dinner before hand?" She asked

"I can pick something up on the way I've got some things to deal with before I can come back" Jax smiled as he wrapped his arms around her

"Anything important?" She asked

"Collette, nothing is as important as you I promise. Just gotta go home and shower and drop some cash off" Jax said

"Can I come with you?" Collette asked

"Sorry darlin', my house is trashed and I'm not bringing you there when it looks like that" Jax smiled kissing Collette

"Maybe next time. I'll see you around five then?" She asked

"Of course, I'll be here with dinner and we can lock ourselves away for the night" Jax said running a hand through her blonde hair

Jax pulled into the driveway of his house, shutting the bike off he removed his helmet walking up the steps almost seemed foreign to him. He didn't even want to come to the house today but he couldn't let his kids down when Piper texted him yesterday and said that Abby was asking where he was.

Opening the door he could smell something delicious cooking, entering the kitchen he saw Piper standing at the stove stirring her famous sauce

"Hey" Jax said

"Hi" Piper said not turning around

"Where's the kids?" Jax asked

"I just got the three of them down for a nap please don't wake them up" Piper said still with her back to him

"How long do I have to wait then?" Jax asked

"Just go Jax, I'll deal with Abby" Piper said finally turning around

"I came here to see my kids Piper you asked me to come see them I am and conviently they are sleeping" Jax said lighting a cigarette

Piper walked over to Jax, took his cigarette and throwing it in the dish water

"You know you can't smoke around the kids what's wrong with you" Piper said

"You know we used to try so hard to get Abby and Abel down for a nap together so we could have a quickie and now I barely even see you" Piper said
