When I finally got back to the house, I tried to sneak away into the kitchen to get something to eat. My mother screeched," WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT EATING TODAY, YOU IDIOTIC CHILD!!" "Damnit" I thought. I can't win these days. Not after my mom found out I'm different.
How am I different, you may ask?
I suppose you shall find out soon enough.
So I walked back up to my room, my head whirring with things I wanted to say but can't. As I opened the door, I had to shut my eyes against the bright morning light that filled the small room. I could hear my sister's laughter tinkling like a bell downstairs. "At least she has a good life. At least mother isn't mean to her. I love her, but I also despise her. I guess it's jealousy...
Or is it?"

I flopped down on my bed, wishing for something to do. "If only...
Nah. That's too much to ask for.
Hm..
I KNOW!
Why didn't I think of this before??
I can fly away! "
I grew more and more excited by the second. Thoughts and ideas zoomed through my mind, faster than the speed of sound."I CAN FINALLY ESCAPE THIS HELL HOLE!!!! "
I heard a loud crack and a large thud behind me. I whipped around to see and old man. He had twinkling blue eyes, shielded by half-moon spectacles. His beard was white as snow, and so long it would have dragged on the floor if he didn't have a hairband in it. He said to me,
"Do not be afraid, little one. I am here to help you. There will be no need for you to fly away, as I can help you escape in a more... legal way. I am Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I trust you don't understand how you can fly, correct?"I looked at him, only slightly terrified. I thought,"How did you get in here, and what was that big crack noise?"
He asked,"How did you do that?"
How did I do what?
"Anyway. You, my dear child, are a witch. This is why you can fly and, apparently you can talk to me through your mind as well. Curious...""What is your name, child?"
I figured I should try out the mind-thingy. "My name is Amelie Juniper, but I prefer Amy."
"I see. Well, Amy, I suggest you pack your belongings. We will depart shortly. It is no longer safe for you here, so as you are preparing I will talk to your mother. She is a witch as well, you know. One of my finest students. Look at where she is now... anyway, hurry up. I will return shortly. ""And by the way, I know of your situation. I'm terribly sorry that you are mute, but it shouldn't affect you too much at Hogwarts."
With that, he swept out of the room, and I watched him tread lightly down the stairs. "He is VERY agile for an old man," I thought.
"I HEARD THAT, THANK YOU AMY."
I giggled silently and began to pack. But first, I have to find my suitcase.
