L I Z Z I E
Tears are streaming down my face.

I've lost my daughter.

"She can't be dead!" Lia sobs.

"As of now, she's most likely gone. She could possibly be in a coma, though." the doctor says.

"This is all my fault!" Lia sobs.

"No it isn't." I say.

"You guys should possibly get going. We'll notify you within twenty four hours." the doctor says.

"Wait!" he calls before we all out of the door.

We turn around.

"If she's alive, she'll spend at least a month at a mental institution." he says.

"Are you saying that my daughter is going to an asylum?" I ask angrily.

"No! She'll go to an institution." he says.

"You can't force me to send her!" I shoot back.

"Well, we'll take her away." he says.

"You have no right to do that!" I shout.

"Goodbye!" the doctor says, pushes us out of the door, and slams it in our faces.
FIVE MINUTES LATER
We're in the car.

I open Twitter on my phone.

@lia_glitter: Hope is in the hospital after her second suicide attempt:( tweet something nice under #positivityforhope plz!

@lia_hope_lizzie: I love Hope so much and I'm praying that she's alright🙏🏻

@phoenix_11: I met Lizzie and the girls in San Fransisco and Hope was so sweet. I hope she's okay:)

@theodd1sout: Hope is a sweet girl. Even though that family hates me now, I really hope she's okay.

My phone rings.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Lizzie! I heard about Hope! Is she okay?" the caller, Oli, asks.

"We don't know." I respond.

"I really hope she's okay! I'm so sorry, Liz." Oli says.

"Thanks." I say.

"Are you gonna put her in rehab?" he asks.

"The hospital's sending her to a mental hospital, but I'm not gonna let that happen." I say.

"I gotta go." he says, and hangs up.

I lean back in my seat, and the tears come.
ONE DAY LATER
My phone rings. The hospital's calling me.

I immediately pick up the phone.

"Hello! Your daughters tests are in." a male voice says.

"She's alive!" he announces.

Tears of joy stream down my face.

"You can pick her up anytime!" he says, and hangs up.

Lia is completely isolated in her room, so I open her door.

"What?" she growls.

"We need to pick up Hope." I say.

Her facial expression goes from annoyed to complete happiness.

She springs up from her bed, and we walk out the door after putting on shoes.

We drive to the hospital.

Hope's waiting for us in the lobby.

"We've discussed the whole institution thing. I'd recommend sending her to rehab." a doctor says.

Hope runs into my arms.

"Have her pack up her things today. She'll go to a bulimic support group, have a therapy session each day, and live at the treatment place." the doctor says.

At this point, I have to agree.

We leave the hospital after the doctor gives us some medication for Hope.

We drive home in tears.

My baby needs to go to rehab.

What have I done wrong?
