It's my sixteenth birthday!
We're throwing a HUGE party.
The twins were born two weeks ago, and Lizzie's feeling much better.
She's having a lot of mood swings, but the doctor said that's normal after a birth.
She still has a small baby bump, so she can't really dress up for this party.
Unfortunately, Ellie had to be put to sleep last week because of an infection.
We were all really sad, but we feel better now.
Almost everyone we know is here.
Phoenix, Lizzie, Gavin, Hope, the twins, Oli, Callum, Lizzie's parents, Tiffany and Mario, Jaiden(she's become a friend of ours), Jade, Cole, and even Ms. Angela are here!
Hope and I are trying to help each other decide what to wear.
We now share a room, because Hope's room became the twin's nursery.
"What about this?" I suggest, pointing to a tight black dress.
"Nah, too basic. I'll help you decide what to wear first." Hope says.
"Okay." I say.
"What about this?" Hope suggests, point to a beautiful, tight, purple dress.
"That's perfect!" I exclaim.
Hope finally decides on a white top and a galaxy skirt while I get changed.
"Wow Lia, you look...amazing." Hope says, when I finish changing.
"Thanks." I say.
I look in the mirror, and I agree, the dress looks amazing on me.
"You look great!" I exclaim, when Hope finishes changing.
"Are you ready to go downstairs?" Hope asks.
"Yeah." I say.
We walk down the stairs.
"Here's the birthday girl!" Lizzie exclaims.
Everyone cheers.
I blush.
"Do you wanna eat cake or open presents first?" Gavin asks.
Oh, I forgot to mention that Gavin's living with us now.
"Open presents!" I exclaim.
TWENTY MINUTES LATER
All of the gifts are open, and there's a mess of wrapping paper on the floor.
Lizzie and Hope said that they have a huge surprise for me, so that's why they didn't get me anything.
From Gavin I got a new phone case and baby blue Converse, from Phoenix I got a super romantic card and a pair of kitty headphones, from Lizzie's parents I got a gift card to Sephora, from Jade and Cole I got a Visa gift card and a new case for my iPad, from Tiffany and Mario I got some new clothes, from Jaiden I got a gift card to Primark, from Oli I got a free Minecraft account, from Callum I got a gift card to Windows, and from Ms. Angela I got a Visa gift card.
Hope grabs my hand and leads me up the stairs.
She brings me to the twin's nursery, where both Noah and Cassidy are sound asleep.
She quietly opens the closet, and takes out a huge wrapped gift.
She leads me back downstairs, and tells me to go outside.
"This is weird," I say.
"You'll see." Hope says.
She tells me to open the gift.
It's dog supplies.
All of a sudden, Lizzie comes around the corner with a chihuahua in her hands.
"Oh my god!" I exclaim.
"We felt so bad that Ellie died a week before your birthday." Hope explains.
Lizzie hands me the dog.
I cradle it in my arms.
"Is it a boy or girl?" I ask.
"A girl. She's a rescue dog. She was found abandoned in a park. A hiker found her. She had bruises all over her body, and she was starving." Hope says.
"Poor baby!" I exclaim.
"What do you want to name her?" Hope asks.
I think for a minute.
"Sadie." I answer.
And from this day on, Hope, Lizzie, Gavin, Sadie, Buddy, Cassidy, Noah, and I will all live a happy live.
