it's so easy to distract ourselves
because we live in a world where we're deluded
into thinking everything is good
with stifled chokes and rough swallows
of our reality stars and idolized versions
of people just like us on holographic screens.
it's so easy to distract ourselves
because we live inside a glass bowl of
our own perfect little world we occasionally peek outside
of and tweet, type, text and share our pity
in momentary, fleeting and possibly faux sympathy
to act like we care, to act like we're good people,
to make ourselves feel better about this growing
indifference inside the cavities we call our hearts.
it's so easy to distract ourselves with our abstract
and unimportant worries and concerns,
we bitch and complain about teachers and school
even though there's a galaxy of individuals who
would take a bullet to receive a fucking education,
and we don't understand how lucky we are to
be born into a world of opportunities.

i hate it whenever people complain about so-called 'first-world problems' and cry about how their crush don't like them or how much school sucks. like shut the fuck up, there's children in africa who don't even get food, you're lucky af to be born in the family you are in; jesus christ. be grateful, you piece of shit.
anyway, MERRY CHRISTMAS. <3
