CHAPTER ONE: "are you kidding me"
"Move you creep!" I holler out my car window. If there's one thing I hate about the city of Seoul, it's the traffic. It's my first job interview of the day and I'm already going to be late.
I park my car illegally and jump out.
I almost fall on my face before I realize that I forgot to clasp my heels. Sometimes I wonder how I'm still alive.
The building is cold and the chairs in the waiting room are leaving me a permanent wedgie. I've been waiting so long that I think my underwear has officially been tattooed to my buttocks.
"Oh Ha Ni" the receptionist calls.
I take a deep breath and head in through the doors. I enter the room with a bright smile on my face, hoping to leave with the same bright expression. I walk over to the older man sitting behind a desk. He holds up his hand in a swift motion and signals me not to come any closer and sit before him.
Awkward.
He extends his hand to take my resume, which I hand over quickly.
"So it says here that you graduated from Valencia. that's impressive" he says and lifts a bushy eyebrow. I shift nervously in my seat.
"we'll actually it's Valenquia, and it's a smaller community college really. just a bit smaller" his face darkens in dis interest.
He puts down my resume on the desk.
I've seen that face before. Brows furrowed, numb getoutofmyofficebeforeIkickyouruselessbuttout face.
"Sir please-" I begin to say, but he stands up abruptly before I can say anything further
"I'm afraid you are not qualified for this job"
He then ushers me out the door, and doesn't even apologize.
I hate my life.
"I'll show you! you stupid piece of cold ramen!" I bang my head on my steering wheel and regret it immediately. I feel my eyes water with tears and decide to go out to the public park.
Maybe a walk will do me some good.
I change into my T-shirt and sweats and find a parking. I storm out of my car and practically growl at a passing jogger.
I got this, i think to myself.
I begin to feel better once the sun warms my face.
"oh my god, oh my god there they are!" I turn around to see what the commotion is about when a group of girls in bright tutu's almost trample me over.
so much for peace and quiet.
I hear booming music in the distance and figure that's what all the fuss is about. I turn to the other street where the music fades out.
Thoughts begin to rush into my head. what will I do with my life? how will I pay the bills? My thoughts are interrupted by the sound of screaming girls again.
"seriously?" I plug my headphones in.
Big mistake.
Before I know it I'm kissing the concrete and I'm surrounded by various body parts and colorful banners.
I feel myself being lifted by an arm, a car door slams, and all goes black.
