Chapter Thirteen

As soon as I hear Soo Hi's voice on my cell I turn pale.

"What's wrong? who is it" Taemin asks, seeing my fear. I Look at Minho, who's eyes become wide when he realizes.

"It's Soo Hi" Minho says. I nod slightly.

"Who is Soo Hi?" Key chimes in.
Minho shushes him and calls on the boys to explain. I thank him and rush to the bathroom.

"Hello?"

"Can you explain to me why your on Koreas news channel, or should I try to figure it out for myself?"

"It's a complicated story"

"That's fine with me, I like complicated. so start talking" Soo Hi's voice is as cold as Ice.

I explain to her my previous job troubles, and how I came in contact with the boys. I then mentioned how Manager Hyung offered me a job and is paying me really well. I tell her how it's my second month working for them and that today's incident wasn't that big of a deal.

"So then you decide to take this job without consulting me and then make a fool of yourself on national TV" she adds, making me feel about as dirty as a fly.

"I would have told you-"

"But you didn't."

"Yes I know, but-"

"Will you ever grow up! I have a business to uphold and maintain, I don't have time for my little sister to make a fool out of me from across the damn ocean!" she yells so loud that I have to remove the phone from my ear.

"I'm sorry if it caused you any-"

"Sorry! you're sorry?" She sighs heavily.

"I have work to do now, but I will deal with you later" she hangs up. I open the door silently, feeling numb and sick to my stomach. "What happened?" Onew asks. "Yeah, what did she say" Key adds.

But I just ignore the boys and walk out the door. Into the elevator. Down the hallway. Out the back entrance of the hotel. The chilly night air hits my face as I walk down the street. I pass several other hotels and little shops.

Why did she have to see me? why couldn't I have just said no to Manager Hyung from the beginning? and why am I such a screw-up?!

I kick a glass bottle on the street and watch it roll away aimlessly. Already empty, it just goes down it's path until it's stopped, and crushed by a moving car. I can't help but feel like the bottle. Always being kicked around only to then be crushed by my sister. I stare at my feet for a moment and then go sit at a nearby bench.

"Your sister is an evil witch"

I turn, and see Key who plops down next to me on the bench.

"I followed you to make sure you were ok. Then again, you're never ok, especially because that fat head of yours always gets in the way"

He makes me laugh a little.

"Seriously Ha Ni, you can't let her get to you. This is your life, you make the decisions, not her" he comes closer and wraps his arm around me.

"That's right, come to umma Key" he says, and I let my head rest on his shoulder. For once Key remains silent beside me, allowing me to enjoy the calm moment and get my head together. We walk back to the Hotel in silence, he holds my hand and we interlock fingers. That says enough.

When we return, the boys are preparing for bed. Minho will sleep on the bed because of his leg,. When I pass by, he holds onto my wrist "please stay with me" he says. I don't have the heart to say no.

I lay down in the bed next to Minho, the boys don't object because they're too tired, so they lay down on the two remaining beds. The lights shut off and I am left alone with Minho by my side. His breath is steady and once again I am calmed by the sound of his breathing. He finds my hand under the sheet and holds it in his. I smile to myself.

"You know she can't hurt you right? she'd have to go through all of us first" Minho whispers.

"I know. thank you....for everything" I whisper back.

I feel him shift to his side. But then he does something I didn't expect. He plants a soft kiss on my forehead, and let's it linger there for about a second. I hold in my breath too shocked to move. he then lays his head at the nape of my neck and falls asleep without a sound.
