Chapter Twenty

I'm on my way back to the hotel when I receive a call from Onew.

"Don't go to the hotel" he says out of breath.

"Why? what happened?" I say and stop at a red light.

"There's a mob around the hotel, yelling your name"

"Give me the phone" I hear Minho say in the background. I can hear the static when he grabs the phone.

"Ha Ni, where are you. You are not safe" his voice deepens.

"I'm pulling in to a gas station now, where are you?"

"Were on our way to find you"

"Ok but I'm fine-" I'm cut off by someone tapping on my window. Minho hears the tapping and before he can warn me, I make the stupid move of rolling down my window.

I feel the woman's fist in my face and I try to roll up the window as fast as possible. Soon, a group of her friends begin to bang and kick my car.

"Go away!" I yell.

"Ha Ni! what's wrong!" Minho is screaming through the phone.

"They found me" I say in a whimper, I look at myself in the mirror and see a trickle of blood run down my face.

"WHERE ARE YOU" Minho snarls.

I tell them the gas station where I'm at. Minho hands the phone to Taemin who is trying to keep me calm. I think of driving away but my car is completely surrounded.

"Get off the damn weel. I'm driving" I hear Minho say in the background. He switches places with Jonghyun who was originally driving.

"Hang in there Ha Ni-ah were coming" Taemin says.

"Ok" I say staring at the angry faces plastered on my window. A couple of girls begin to spit on my car and another takes off her shoe in an attempt to break my window.

I hear glass shatter and realize they broke my back seat window. A skinny girl is crawling into my car and I begin to scream.

"We'll teach you not to mess with our pop stars!" she throws herself on me and my back presses against the steering wheel causing the horn to honk.

I try blocking her blows to my face but she's too fast. I realize that I must fight back. I use all my strength to push her off and she falls backwards onto the seat. I take this opportunity and launch myself on her, giving me more control. I push her down but she slaps me hard. I can feel her finger nails tarring through the skin on my face.

I yelp in pain but manage to hit her on the head with my elbow. I crawl out of the car and as soon as I do, someone grabs a hold of my hair and pushes me to the ground.

Tires screech and the mob grows quiet.

Then I hear screams and phone cameras flashing as I'm being lifted off the ground. The strong chest and heavy breathing can only belong to one person.

Minho has come to my rescue.

Minho runs with me in his arms to the van and hands me over to Onew's arms. I see him turn to the crowd of girls. the cameras continue to flash and the girls scream his name and swoon.

"Minho oppa! saranghae!" They shout.

I see Minho's body go rigid and his hands ball into fists.

"You are all animals!" he yells in his deep voice. The girls gasp and stay quiet. some of them even look offended.

"Ha Ni is our friend! She is part of the team! if I ever find out about anyone harassing her....you will all suffer the consequences" He huffs, and puffs up his chest in rage and gets in the car. The mob stays quiet with their mouths hanging open.

We speed away.

Onew begins to inspect the damage done to me. Most of it is on my face and back. I can feel myself bruise almost instantly.

"Those......aghhhhhh!" Minho slams his hands down on the steering wheel making the van shake. He is furious.

"Minho relax, she's ok" Key says from the passenger seat

"Ok?! she is NOT ok! they could have killed her!"

"But they didn't" Key replies calmly.

Minho's face flushes red with anger and his nostrils flare.

"Where will we go?" Jonghyun asks. He's right, where will we go? we can't go back to the hotel.

"I know where to go, don't worry" Minho says and tries to calm himself but just ends up strangling the wheel.

"He'll calm down soon, don't worry" Onew says and pushes the hair out of my face. On our way to wherever it is that we're going, Taemin, Onew, and Jonghyun tend to my cuts and bruises. Onew holds a small towel to my forehead to stop the bleeding.

"We should have never left you alone" Jonghyun says to himself.

I smile slightly and tap his hand in a soothing gesture.

"I'm alright" I say. He looks at me and smiles back.

The car inclines slightly, as if we were going up a hill.

"We're here" Minho says to us.

The boys help me out of the van. We have come to large house made out of wood. The lights are on inside indicating that it's vacant.

Onew gives me a piggy-back ride so I don't have to walk. we reach the door and Minho knocks. We hear various voices and laughter. The door opens.

"Minho Hyung!"

Minho and the stranger hug as if they were long lost brothers.

"Who's that?" I say, not able to see very well in the dark.

"That's Lee Joon from MBLAQ" Onew says.

Apparently we will be staying with MBLAQ for the night.
