Jungkook sleepily walked right up to the counter, a 5-dollar bill in his hand. He was never fully awake before arrived to the coffee shop and got his drink, and especially not today, a Monday. It was an old, run down coffee shop which was always quite deserted, the only people he could see today was a tired looking woman in her early thirties typing ferociously on her laptop, and a mother and her young son both on their iPads. Although Jungkook loved the delicious, comforting scent of coffee, and the cramped familiar environment of the cute little coffee shop; the disconnected and stressed people created too gloomy of an atmosphere for him (as usual) and he decided he would again drink his coffee elsewhere. He couldn't bear places with negative, dull vibes like this for any longer than five minutes.

"What would you like to order?", exclaimed a cheerful voice. Jungkook suddenly looked up at the unexpectedly excited voice which completely contradicted the vibe of the coffee house. What added to the surprise was that although Jungkook was a regular, he'd never seen this young dude before. He must be new.

"A medium peppermint latté, thanks," he said, after a moment of staring intently at this charismatic brunette's eyes. He immediately looked back down and internally slapped himself after realizing how stupid he must've looked, outright staring for a few seconds too many with such a shocked expression, eyes and mouth wide open.

But it was unavoidable. This guy was truly something else. He had quirky streaks of green in his brown fringe, which reminded Jungkook of mint choc chip ice cream. And he was so positive, so happy and energetic. His positive energy literally blasted out of every pore of his existence, each movement radiated energy, glowing and bursting with excitement.

"Anything else?" the new barista asked, his positive energy somehow clearly evident in even these few simple words.

"Uhm, uh no thanks, I'm good. The latté's enough. Uh. Haha. Yeah. Thanks."

Dammit. He had caught him by surprise. With what? A few words? That every barista is supposed to say when customers order? How many hundreds of times had he ordered coffee from this place? Or ordered coffee from anywhere in general? He should know it was definitely not unusual for baristas to ask if you wanted anything else, so why was he taken by surprise? Seriously, what was wrong with him!? What had this dude done???

The mint choc chip guy chuckled cutely at Jungkook's reaction, smiling happily and confidently.

"That would be three dollars and 65 cents."

"Oh! Right. Here." He handed him his 5-dollar bill.

DAMMIT. What the hell? Why? What?!? What was that?? With each word this guy uttered, he felt more and more flustered. But how?? All he was saying was custom barista lines. There was nothing unusual. Why was he reacting at such an extreme to just his words?

What he should've known is, words themselves matter much less than the people who speak them.
