Jungkook awoke to find himself tangled and snuggled with Taehyung, lying on the pier. It took him a moment to remember how he had gotten there - the memories came back piece by piece, each one a puzzle piece in the vast picture of a night he'd had, none of it really making sense. When he realized what he was doing, he jolted up and crept away from Taehyung like he was some revolting creature.
"What's wrong, Kookie?" asked Taehyung playfully, cheerful and positive even after waking up with a pounding headache on an abandoned pier.
"No, no, no no no. What have I done?" said Jungkook, backing away faster and faster as he remembered more and more. Taehyung sat up, confused, and a single ray of sun shined on his glorious lips through the leaves and branches around them which caught Jungkook's eye.
Memories of biting, kissing, licking those lips flashed before his eyes. How he sucked and traced them, tenderly at first but wildly as he got more impatient.
"No, no no no no. I-I'm really sorry. But last night was a mistake. Please. Forget all of it. Pretend it never happened. I'm sorry." he said, not even waiting for a response as he stood up and ran through the forest and roads all the way back home, leaving the green haired boy sitting alone and confused, sad beyond expression. It wasn't even what he just said that was the worst. The terror, the real fear and disgust he saw in the boy's eyes as he backed away from him. Those were the lasting blows. The salt in the wound. The twist of the knife... Those were the only things he could not handle.
The fear and terror was not directed to Taehyung, of course. It was actually himself he was scared of. Of what he was capable of doing. Of what he had done.
