...

They entered the carriage, not a word spoken. [Your Name] sat across from Alexander, legs crossed, gaze upon the floor. The clanks of the horse's hooves could be heard, or rather they crunched the snow. The windows were covered with fabric, she reached pushing it back catching a glimpse of the other side.

The ground was covered a sheet of snow, trees no longer had leaves to dance with, it gave an almost depressing aura. She leaned back, the fabric falling to its place. Her hands ran through her hair before she allowed her head to rest upon the carriage's walls. It'd be best to rest as opposed to remaining awake avoiding Alexander.

It was an unpleasant experience, her head going back at times hitting the wall but, she eventually managed to rest. The carriage was a minor improvement a slight warmth filling the air rather than being outside with merciless weathers.

...

[Your Name] felt a light shake upon her body, her [Eye color] orbs are immediately met with a familiar face. He still held that bitter expression, his hand dropping once he saw her awake.

"We're here..."

Alexander said, his tone lacking emotions. He gestured for her to exit which she did, being met with the surroundings she knew so well. She hadn't realized how long it'd been since last seeing everything. She didn't think she'd return to see it.

Way to be optimistic...

Alexander followed close behind, going ahead to open the door. It was the way she left it, webs slightly building up upon the ceiling. It was still rather warm inside despite it being abandoned for a considerable amount of time.

She made her way to the room, looking in the mirror. She undid her shirt finding the wound covered with bandages, it was still very much painful but, still manageable. She sighed, undressing herself completely, unwrapping the bandages from her breast.

[Your Name] looked at herself once more, she never was one to be vain. She was quite the opposite, never satisfied with her looks. She aimed for something more, much like her mother. She could only hope she wouldn't become her mother.

She looked through the truck that she'd brought with her from Britain, it contained her dresses. She chose one that fit her standard, it was loose upon the sleeves to keep the wound from the pressure of the fabric. She draped a coat over her bare shoulders, the dress was far to scandalous to be worn without.

She walked outside, hands intertwined with each other. She looked around the house quietly for Alexander, he was not where he usually resigned. She eventually found him resting upon the sofa, she gave a sympathetic look before leaving into the room once more.

...

Weeks passed not a word was spoken between the two, [Your Name] couldn't stand being in such isolated. Wake, dine, sleep, wake, dine, sleep. It seemed that was all her schedule consisted of. Dull and repetitive is what it was. She knew very well she had to break the silence.

She stood from the mattress, a coat wrapped around her shoulders. It was rather chilly inside the house however was a drastic change to the weather outside. She couldn't help but worry for the other soldiers. She was well-acquainted with a select few, good men they were.

She made her way to the living quarters, finding a fire burning dimly. She sighed approaching the area Alexander usually stayed, he was sat upon a cushioned chair reading. He knew very well she was there but didn't bother to glance up.

She was hesitant but got the courage to speak. She held herself up as she did.

"... Will you please talk to me?"

"There's nothing to discuss, [Your Name]."

"Please?"

Alexander heavily sighed, putting the book on onto his lap. He shifted his gaze to her, taking his glasses off. He elbow rested upon the arm-rest, his brows raised.

Her brow raised in response to his childish behavior, crossing her arms.

"Will you please stop this childish attitude, Alexander? I'd like to talk like adults."

There was no reply, he simply stared at her, frustration still visible. She frowned at this and sighed.

"There's no point bothering with you! You're like a brick wall, there's no go--"

She was interrupted by Alexander.

"I-I can't lose anybody else! I've lost so many people... Far too many to count, I can't and won't lose you too."

[Your Name] froze, she stared at him eyes slightly widened. She hadn't expected such an outburst. She slowly approached him placing a hand upon his back in a comforting manner.

"Alexander, I didn't know. Forgive my ignorance."

Her words were much softer as she attempted to comfort him, rubbing his back. He glanced towards her, his captivating eyes looking into hers. She gave a soft smile, he returned it.

"I should be the one asking for forgiveness, I haven't treated you the best these past days."

"Well then, you're forgiven."
