[ First update of the year! ]
...
It'd been approximately a few weeks nearing a month since they had both forgiven each other, becoming closer as friends. He confessed at to why he was sent home, he was involved in a duel with John. He wasn't sure what had happened to John but, he assumed he was still in camp.
[Your Name] currently found herself looking through the windows of the entrance, watching the snow lightly fall onto the floor. It'd been relatively calm unlike the camps, she couldn't help but wonder how they'd been. She knew very well how the conditions were, and how the winter impacted them.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock, she slightly jumped up, glancing towards the wooden door. She made her way opening it finding a young man, he held a letter in his hands.
"Hello, madam. Is a man by the name of Alexander Hamilton here? I do apologize if I've been mistaken."
"That is correct, sir."
"That's wonderful! I have a letter here, it's of upmost urgency. If you can, would you deliver this to him?"
"Of course, I shall inform him immediately. Thank you sir."
With that, the conversation ended. The man had given the letter to her, leaving into the streets of New York. She shut the door, glancing down at the letter. There was nothing on who it was from, it was the same on the other side.
[Your Name] bit her lips as she looked at the envelope. She debated with herself one whether or not to attempt to open the letter. She paced around the room before coming to a decision. She made her way across the room, grabbing a knife.
She placed the blade underneath the flap carefully breaking the seal of the envelope. She took the letter with her to the sofa, unfolding it as she did. She scanned through the words, her eyes slightly wide.
She folded the letter, slipping it into the envelope once more. She held it close to her, hands slightly trembling. She began pacing around the room, holding the letter against her chest. Washington wished for Alexander to come back join the war. He couldn't go back, they'd only just gotten back.
Her [Eye color] orbs scanned the room, there was nothing of use. She made her way throughout the corridors of the house finding herself in the bedroom. She approached the familiar box, placing a dainty hand upon the leathery top. She opened the trunk, tucking the letter beneath the items. It'd be out of sight from Alexander.
[Your Name] shut the box standing from where she was crouched, a guilty expression as she looked down at the box. She attempted to justify her actions however, it was of no use. The feeling remain, she knew it'd be everlasting
She sighed making her way to the study room where Alexander would usually be. She quietly opened the door, hand grasping the frame. She found Alexander sleeping on the seat, she smiled approaching him.
It didn't come at a surprise to her, it was a regular thing. He'd get so caught up with something, he'd forget to tend to his needs. She carefully removed his glasses from his face, placing them on the table besides him. She exited the room moving once more into the bedroom, removing a cover from the mattress. She gently draped it upon his slumped shoulders.
She glanced back at him, her expression softening. She knew she would eventually have to address the matter of the letter sooner or later. She had two choices which both had terrible outcomes. She'd either give the letter to Alexander, who would with no doubt send an immediate reply, and watch him go off to possibly get himself killed or she'd keep the letter hidden from him, having the risk of him finding it, and no doubt ruining their close relationship.
