...

"Alexander!"

[Your Name] shouted as she shook the resting man's shoulder with her dainty hands, her [Hair color] locks falling into her face as she did. She held frustration in her eyes, it was obvious she'd been trying to wake the man for quite some time. She huffed in utter annoyance, attempting once more to wake the new found 'sleeping beauty'.

"It's far too late to be resting!"

A hand was swatted to his back, earning a small groan from him. She continued to shake him until his lids slowly opened, squinting at the light entering the room. A soft chuckle escaped her lips as she kneeled down as he shifted his position from the bed, a tired smile spread as he glanced towards her.

"Always a wonder to wake to you, my dear."

His voice was feeble, being as he'd just woken only a few moments ago. The remark caused her to roll her eyes which caused laughs to escape from both sides. A hand slowly made it's way to the girl's cheek, a thumb gently stroking it.

"Have you forgotten what day it is today, Alexander?"

Silence engulfed the two before a radiant grin grew on Alexander's face, he lifted himself from the bed moving around the room. He quickly readied himself however, as a forgetful man, he couldn't quite find his coat. His frantic searching caused her to sigh, joining him in the search for the coat.

Needless to say, the search didn't take long as she found the coat tossed in the corner of the room. She held the coat up as Alexander had trouble finding the sleeves, a mess he was due to the excitement consumed him. She assisted once more, adjusting the coat with a small smile.

With that, the couple was off into the streets of their nation, ringed hands intertwined with each other. It'd only been a few weeks since the union which had been delayed due to the unfortunate death of John Laurens. The two grieved together, however, it had taken a bigger toll on Alexander than it had her. The two were extremely close to each other. The house was in complete silence for weeks. She was glad to see him return to a normal state, however, would see a tinge of sorrow in his usual passionate eyes.

Eventually, they made it to the often visited hospital, making their way to Philip. He had recently turned one, already moving from breastfeeding. It'd be time for him to come along to their home. Alexander had bonded with the child perhaps, making up for what he missed with his father. It was seen in his eyes, the love for Philip, it was almost as if he was his own.

Upon entering, they were greeted with the curious Philip standing from his cot. There was immediate panic as the couple rushed to save the child from falling from the tiny mattress. Philip ended up safe in the hands of [Your Name], she caressed the child. Elegant fingers hit the child's nose in a playful manner causing an erupt of giggles.

Hands wrap around the woman's waist, a pair of soft lips pressed onto her cheek. A faint tint of pink spread across her cheeks as he continued the loving gestures, it was nothing of a lustful degree as he was a courteous man. He eventually shifted his focus to Philip, developing playful air causing her to be, once again, amused with their interactions.

The pair found themselves now walking back to their home, a similar grin upon their faces as they did as Philip now joined with them. [Your Name] held the child in her arms as his head rested upon her shoulders, a quilt shielding the child from the breeze. They began approaching the familiar house, Alexander holding the door for them. She gave a small before entering, looking around the familiar building.

"Alexander?"

"Yes, my dear?"

"Would it not be sensible to change houses? I'm afraid only one bedroom will not be sufficient for a growing child."

"Yes, for certain, my love. We'll just have to wait for an opportunity to come. My studies will for certain benefit us."

Alexander gave a comforting smile, hues lit from the sunlight that still peeked through the curtains. A frown became evident on her expression, how she disliked his studies that would not allow him to rest. The ridiculous excuses he'd come up to stay awake despite her pleads. A sigh escaped her lips.

"I'll take it as another sleepless night on your part then."

"Well— No... I promise to come up later on! I simply must complete one task."

That was a lie, no doubtably. Another cruel way to higher her hopes of actually sleeping with her husband, a way to stop her pleads. She gave a light nod to his response, taking the sleeping Philip with her to the cot set in the bedroom. She carefully set the freckled child in the small bed, the corners of her lips turning upwards as she watched his peaceful figure. His chest slowly rising then falling, curls spread across the small mattress.

She eventually grew tired herself, a soft yawn escaped her lips. She moved away, her hands softly brushing against the soft material draped upon the wooden bed. She made her way to the mattress, it was a matter of minutes until she drifted to sleep.
