Normani walked into her house quietly and slowly made her way to the stairs. "Going somewhere?" Ashlee asked. Normani groaned and turned around. "Haven't you ruined my life enough" Normani said. "I have no idea what you're talking about" Ashlee said. "DADDY!!" Ashlee yelled. Normani rolled her eyes and started heading back to the front door. Ashlee ran after her and detained her. "Let me go Ashlee, please" Normani whined. For a second, Normani thought Ashlee loosened her grip, but if she did it was only for a second. Their father appeared from his office and stopped when he saw Normani. "Well look who decided to come home" He said. He walked closer to her and Normani struggled to get out of Ashlee's grasp. He started unbuckling his belt. Normani's anger took over and she elbowed Ashlee in the chest causing her to lose her grasp on Normani. Normani ran up the stairs as fast as she could. She ran into Arielle's room and hid behind her startled sister. "Mani, what's wrong?" Arielle asked. "Shhh" Normani said. The fear in Normani's eyes told her sister all she needed to know. "Go in the closet" Arielle said. Normani wasted no time bolting to the closet. Soon enough Ashlee slammed open the door. "Where's Normani" Ashlee said in a harsh tone. "I don't know, will you just leave her alone this time" Arielle explained in an annoyed tone. "Arielle stop protecting her from what she deserves" Ashlee said. "Ugh you're sick" Arielle said. Ashlee scoffed. "Sure" She replied. While they were conversing Normani was texting Lauren about her sitaution.
Lolo💚- Mani, you gotta get out of there! I'm coming to get you okay!!
Manibear👑- I know, I'll think of something
Lolo💚- You have to leave rn, when Ashlee leaves take as many clothes as you can and I'll be right outside okay?
Manibear👑- Okay Laur, thanks
Lolo💚- Anytime Mani ;) I'm already nearby your house okay, is Ashlee gone?
Manibear👑- She just left
"Mani it's okay for you to come out" Arielle said. "Okay I'm not coming back by the way" Normani said. "Okay, be safe Mani" Arielle sighed. "Is it okay if I take your bag?" Normani asked. "Yeah, it's fine just go" Arielle said. "Thanks" Normani said running out the door. She looked left and right then ran to her room. She slowly opened the door and when she knew the coast was clear she bolted towards the window. "Mani?" Adrian asked. "Can't talk, gotta go" Normani said. "Ashlee sent me here to wait for you" He said tiredly. "So you better go" Adrian said. "I know that's what I'm doing" Normani said. She latched onto something on the roof then climbed ontop. "Ugh, if this doesn't kill me" Normani said. "Normani!" Lauren said from below. "It's okay just jump" Lauren said. Normani leaped and landed on the trampoline making a huge jump then a tumble. "Yes! Okay let's go" Lauren said. "I thought I died for a second" Normani said. Lauren laughed and led Normani to the car since she was a bit dizzy from the fall. "When did you get a car?" Normani asked. "This is Mr. Pratt's car" Lauren said. "Your neighbor?" Normani asked. "Yeah I told him it was an emergency and he let me borrow it but I have to return it so we're going to my house" Lauren said.

"Are you sure you're alright?" Lauren asked. "I'm fine" Normani replied, she bent over to tie her white sneakers. "Are you hungry?" Lauren asked. "No thanks" Normani said. "Mani, you're going to eat" Lauren said. Normani sighed. "I'll take that as a yes" Lauren said. She got up and walked out the door. "Lauren" Her mother called. "Yes?" Lauren asked. "You should get to school" She said. "I know, I'm almost ready" Lauren said. "Does she need to repeat herself? Get to school" Her Dad said. "Mike" Her mother warned. Lauren continued what she was doing and took two pancakes and scrambled eggs. "Thank you Mama" Lauren said. Lauren quickly made her way back up the stairs. She opened the door and Normani was laying on her bed curled up in a ball. "Mani, I got your food, come on you love pancakes" Lauren said. A small sob came from Normani and Lauren immediately wrapped her arms around her.
