A Viking love story

Chapter 12

Today Floki and Helga are getting married today and I'm so happy and excited for them. It's been a little weird between him and my father lately and I don't know why but whatever. Floki sees Helga coming in this boat and he's getting really excited. He runs up to her and carries her bridal style to where everyone is standing. I was watching them promising themselves to each other.

"That will be us in he future." He whispered to me and I smiled at him.

"I can't wait." I said and he smiled at me.

One week later...

Today is the day that Erlendur's family is coming and I'm really excited to meet the rest of his family. I'm nervous because I don't want to disappoint his mother because she'll be my mother in law in the future. (Did they use this terminology back then??) I put on my best dress and also put earrings on. I went outside to wait beside father and I was really nervous. We heard the horns sound meaning that they are here. Erlendur looks so happy and that makes me smile. He picked up one of his younger siblings in his arms and it kind of turned me on. We entered the hall and me and father had a cup of ale in our hands. 

"Ragnar I see you as more as an equal. For you have many sons and as you can see I have many daughters." Everyone laughed at that. 

"May be celebrate likes the Gods do, feasting and with pledges." He said and the party began. 

"Caroline I want you to meet my mother." Erlendur said 

"What if she doesn't like me." I said 

"Don't be silly she'll love you." He said and I smiled

"Mother I would like you to meet Caroline." He said and she smiled 

"So your the famous Caroline that he has been talking about." She said and he blushed a little. 

"It's so nice to meet you." I said 

"And I you." She said 

"So I heard that you are a good fighter." She said 

"I'm not that good but I have been practicing and training with my father." I said 

"Trust me you will be an amazing fighter like your father even though he isn't your blood father." She said 

"Mother." He said in a warning tone.

"It's ok I'll see you around." I said 

"I'm so sorry about that I had no idea that she was going to say that." He said 

"It's fine...I'm fine." I said while my voice is cracking. 

"No your not because you're not looking me in the eyes and I know that when you do that you are about to cry." He said 

"I just can't believe she said that to me." I said while crying. He hugged me tightly not wanting to let me go. 

"I won't let anyone hurt you ever." He said 

"Thank you. I love you." I said 

"I love you too." He said 

"Hey are you two ok?" Bjron asked 

"Never better." He said and smiled at me.

"Yeah never better." I said and smiled 

"Good and by the way you two should just be married already." He said and I blushed 

"Trust me I'm going to ask father and your father for permission. I'm really certain that they will say yes because we truly love each other." He said and left. 

"I can't believe he is going to ask now." I said 

"He truly loves you I can see it in his eyes." He said 

"Good because I truly and deeply love him too." I said
