he would live for himscreams laced with cries and sobs escaped tyler's chest. he didn't bother holding it in, it wasn't like anyone was doing anything about it. tears flowed like a river down his face, his eyes hurting from how much they'd produced. he really did love tyler...
josh took that as a sign to finally be able to go up to him, and help him over the rails. he swiftly made his way to his boyfriend, who was hiding his face behind his hands, horrible shouts of desperation echoing away from his mouth. his body was already facing away from the deep blue waters below, he stuck his hands out and gripped the railing, preventing him from falling off. josh softly held onto his forearm, tyler connecting the link by holding onto josh.
carefully, josh pulled tyler up and over, setting him back down on the ground. all the while he still cried, josh's heart dropping down to his feet. tyler threw his arms around josh's neck, pulling him in for a tight hug while he still emitted screeches of pain, josh cringing a little from hearing the one he loves in such misery. he had to make him feel better somehow.
that's when it hit josh. he'd just saved his boyfriend from killing himself. now, even josh started to cry. he wrapped his arms around tyler's upper back, enveloping him in his arms. he could stay here forever, the both of them alive, tyler's fragile body in his arms. though there was sadness, there was also hope, like the glint of light in the darkest of tunnels.
with tears down his face, josh pulled tyler over to a little bench near them and sat on it, leading tyler into his lap. his shaking body curled up into josh, feeling the warmth radiating off of him. he felt josh let go of him for a second, so he pouted and looked up to him, seeing that he was removing his thick, fluffy jumper.
"wha-what are you do-doing" tyler struggled to get out, sobs breaking through his speech like ice. he didn't want josh to get cold, the wind was raging and opaque grey clouds had settled overhead, tyler believing it was going to rain soon.
josh shrugged his jumper off, revealing a long sleeved shirt underneath. "you need it more than me" he spoke the words slow, his voice was threatening to break, but he wanted to be strong for tyler right now. he needed it.
reluctantly, tyler put his arms in the air, tyler putting the hole of the jumper over his head and pulling it down, covering his shaking torso. he sighed, placing his head sideways on the shorter boy's chest, feeling his arms wrap around him once more. he brought his hands up to his neck, and bit on the sleeves of 'his' new jumper, looking up to see josh looking back. he loved this boy so much.
he smiled a toothy grin, the irony of the situation almost making him want to laugh. josh smiled back, little of his teeth being shown. "i love you, you know that, right?" he whispered, cuddling up to him even more, digging his nose into his exposed neck, lightly nipping at the skin.
he hesitated, but deep down, tyler knew he was telling the truth. "yeah," he whispered back, "i love you too".
the two stayed together like that for a moment, silence wrapping around them into their own little bubble where the world didn't exist, it was only the two of them and their love for each other. they were in their safe place, staring into each other's eyes, some form of contact between them.
"ca-can you, uh, remind me of more... good stuff?" tyler suggested. yes, he wasn't going to kill himself anymore, but the thoughts of being cared about were more welcomed now that he was starting to believe it. and feeling that way was something tyler rarely felt.
