Chapter Six: Branded Like a Cow

"Don't worry Sarah, it won't happen to you, Ill ensure that" I said, trying to keep my voice calm to soothe her, even though in the inside I was screaming and almost having a panic attack.

I guess I just never expected, someone like Luke, to be that crazy and both mentally and physically psychotic. He doesn't look like that type of person, I think he looks like one of they hooligans you'd find doing pranks and stupid embarrassing stuff in public, like disturbances for fun.

"I just need to stop thinking so much, of course it won't happen, he is in one of thee best institutions in Australia," She sighed in relief -- her statement making me feel very proud.

Not meaning to be modest or anything, but Riversfield is the best asylum. Just saying.

"Uh Sarah? What was the name of the girl that Luke murdered? You know, the nurse?"

"Oh! Her name was Rachel. Rachel Geller. She was a lovely girl, some mouth on her though," she giggled "she could put you too sleep" we laughed through the phone.

"Thanks, so um, there's something I wanted to talk to you about that Luke told me.." I said.

She took a deep breath before speaking "Luke told you about the blackmailing situation? Please say yes because then it'd be awkward" she laughed uneasily.

"That's exactly what I want to talk to you about. I just need to know something in particular.."

"Yes?"

"Did you ever bring him to Melbourne?" I asked.

"Um.." there was a silence "Yeah," she breathed "yeah I did"

"How did you get away with it? Did they ever find out?"

"During the time Luke was officially let out by Rachel's demand, I took a fake maternity leave. There's a lot to the whole murder situation. Everyone thought Luke just nodded, but I was the only one he'd speak too, and so he told me he wanted to go to Melbourne, he never said why, but I couldn't object due to the fact he.. shamefully, caught me in the act with a fellow colleague. Anyway, I faked my pregnancy and took a couple of months off, I had stuffed my uniform, to make it look like a bump -- they're all foolish here in Sydney, they didn't even notice.

"Luke had to go undercover, he wore a disguise -- and we travelled to Melbourne and stayed at a hotel. I let Luke explore around the town whilst I stayed in the hotel room. So I never knew what he actually came up too, but he'd go out in the afternoon and arrive back at early hours in the morning, about one or two o'clock."

"Thanks for telling me this by the way -- anyway, today Luke had kinda freaked me out, he knows I have a room mate called Daniel, Oh, this all happened when I was looking around in his cell-"

"Oh he doesn't like that!"

Oh really???

"Sorry, carry on" She spoke.

"and he came back with his guard, he got all frustrated and said - and I quote - I know you wouldn't like it if I snooped around in your drawer, playing with your laced thongs and pink bra your room mate Daniel bought for you for a piss-take, and I was wondering if you knew anything about that.."

She gasped, and mumbled a 'it all makes sense now' -- "Luke would talk to himself, which he blames it on the 'voices' when it's probably his own, anyway, he'd always tell me he is jealous of Daniel, and I never questioned him because he loses his temper quickly, that's all he'd say, that he is just jealous and I don't know why" she said, I could picture her shrugging.

"Hmm, it's really creepy" I sighed "how long where you there for?" I asked.

"Umm.. Not long, Luke was found as soon as we came back and got sent back to the institution, mostly because they found out what he did. I was pretty nervous around him, it actually shocks me what a human is capable of."
