Chapter Twenty: Two Souls

Adjusting my skirt, I entered the canteen. It was half way through lunch so as soon as I entered, all eyes were on me. I gulped and painfully walked to where James was standing, which happened to be all the way over to the opposite side of the canteen. My legs felt like jelly and it felt as if there was something stuck up me, so technically I probably looked like a cowboy.

I tried to ignore the pain in my lower region, I was still phased at what the fuck happened and I can't believe I even let him do it.

And he didn't even use protection.

Once I realized I stopped dead in my tracks, my eyes widened at the thought. I could now be pregnant with a psychopath of a father..

Letting out a shaky breath I walked faster over to James, he was sitting at a circle table on his phone, his eyebrows furrowing in concentration, I almost giggled at the sight but remembered how much shit I am in just now.

"Hey James," I spoke cheerfully as I pulled out a seat across from him under the table.

He looked up from his phone, "Hello Scarlet" a smile etched on his face.

"What happens if a patient has sex with another patient.. or worker?" I asked, he looked stunned by my question "and if he never used any source contraception?"

"Oh um.." He looked dead confused "well nothing would happen to the woman because all male patients get a jag to make them infertile, so things like that won't result in a baby, why?" He cocked an eyebrow.

"I-I.."

"Scar? Is everything alright? Did anything happen? Because you know you can tell me, right?" He said.

I nodded "Yeah it's just.. I was just wondering, because these patients are very hormonal" I laughed uneasy.

"Hmm, I know" He laughed and rolled the sleeve up on his left arm to check his watch "Oh shit! I have an interview in ten minutes, gotta go -- see ya!"

I sighed and rested my head on the table in my crossed arms. A flood of relief drew out of my body knowing that I wouldn't be pregnant. My phone vibrated from my pocket, I took it out seeing a text from Daniel.

From: Daniel

Come home early so we can go buy a table tennis table thingy, and I've got exciting news!!!! I'm home already by the way, plzzz come home like now. xx

I chuckled and replied,

To: Daniel

Ill see if I can get off early. Can't wait to hear this exciting news.. xx

A tray of food was placed opposite me, making me look up. Luke was standing with a smirk on his face, staring down at me as he stood there.

"Hello babe," He spoke as he sat down and dug into his food.

"Hi" I croaked.

My voice sounded weak, I was pissed off and scared at him. He was an absolute monster in my eyes, even though I done nothing to prevent him from taking my virginity. I had a plan, a plan where I'd meet a guy, a guy who I relied, trusted and truly loved, someone who I could see the rest of my life with, then I'd let them take my virginity. Not losing it at work with some psycho patient.

"Scarlet?" Luke broke me from my thoughts.

"Sorry what?" I asked, blinking a few times to check back to reality.

"I asked how you were?" His smirk returned.

"I'm alright," I whispered, "how are you?"

"I'm good," He replied, crossing his arms behind his head, leaning back into the chair "all my tasks fulfilled" He chuckled. "Were you mad at me because I never let you finish?"
