Charlotte jumped back a bit. The entire gym was dark besides a few patches of sunlight that seeped through the cracks of the ceiling. Charlotte never realized how old the gym was until then.
"Oooooooohhh, spooky, " Chase whispered. "Hey Morgan, can you reach in my pockets and get my cell phone?"
"You are a pathetic mortal," Morgan grumbled.
Chase chuckled and then a single stage light switch on. The tallest man that Charlotte had seen earlier stood in a tux with a neon-green bow tie. His face was the color of snow in the light and his voice was barely a whisper.
"Music, books, video games, advertisements, feel free? feel free with all these illusions? How can I define reality from illusion to you if already have had the concept thrown at you through ad's and TV? Reality... hmp! Magic...ha! If you only knew..."
He drifted into the shadows and the light cut off. Blue lights then lit up the stage to reveal Bob and Runt in clown suits. The seniors mumbled and many shifted. Charlotte heard a couple of whispered words like 'stupid' or 'huh?'
Bob grinned and then burped. His burped echoed throughout the gym. A few people laughed while some were disgusted. Runt looked at Bob in disgust and then he lifted his leg and farted in retaliation. A lot of people started to laugh and Bob seemed to take it as a challenge because his burp was a lot louder and longer the second time. Bob and Runt than proceeded to go back and forth between each other. After a few minutes, the average guy walked up and was about to whisper something, but then quickly walked away with his hand at his nose and his eyes watering.
Charlotte saw the people in the front cover their noses and Charlotte covered her nose cautiously. Morgan was laughing hysterically and Chase was in shock.
Bob then started to climb a rope that seemed like it wasn't there a second ago and climbed all the way to the top of the beams of the gym. Runt followed and found a second rope. Once Runt joined him, they started to box each other. Then all of a sudden, they both fell at the same time and people screamed. Everyone leaned forward in shock and horror as both fell towards the ground-still battling while doing it as well. However, once they hit the ground, there was no sound. There were not even bodies on the ground, just clothes. Everyone looked around for them. There were so many shadows, they could've appeared out of no where. Then she heard a chuckle beside her. She turned to her right and saw Bob sitting on Morgans lap playing with her hair. On the other side of the gym, she heard a guy scream and Runt appeared back on stage. Morgan was about to slap Bob, but then he snapped his fingers and vanished. He appeared back on stage with his friend and then bowed their heads.
People cheered and yelled and laughed and some even threw hairbands and paper balls as there roses. Morgan clapped her hands and cheered, but Chase sat in confusion.
"Why are they cheering? All they did was fart and fall of a beam! What's so great about that?" Chase asked as he pointed at Bob and Runt.
Charlotte giggled, " I have no idea either. This is the weirdest performance I have ever seen."
"Well I love it! haha! Bob is kind of cute," Morgan said while smiling.
Chase grumbled. " All he did was fart..."
The lights started to dim and they were thrown in darkness again.
The lights came back on in a green hue. The average-sized acrobat stood there in a green robe with a boiling cauldron beside him on stage.
Charlotte saw him wrinkle his nose before he spoke.
"My friends, I have no illusions to give... but I do have some soup! Who wants some?"
Many people raised their hands and yelled out a bunch of me's.
Charlotte didn't say anything. She thought it was weird for a performer to offer food in a cauldron. Nope, no voodoo juice for me...
Bowls started to float across the gym and into the crowd. People grabbed them and started chugging down.
Well, it is lunch time...
One appeared right next to Charlotte. It smelled like baked potato soup, but was a green color. Morgan and Chase started to eat right away. Chase put down his bowl and exclaimed,"This is the best soup I have ever tasted!!!" Morgan nodded as she chugged the rest of hers down. Nothing happened for the first few seconds, but then people started to glow. One-by-one all sorts of colors reflected in people's skin. Morgan turned a orange color whereas Chase turned a green color. Charlotte saw colors of purple and blue and grey and white and many more in the crowd. People cheered and a wave of arms were thrown up and people started to do the wave.
Well, I guess its not a drug...
Charlotte picked up her bowl and drank the contents. All the flavors of bacon and potato and cheese rain through her taste buds. She was half-tempted to run down the bleachers and demand more. When she finished, she sat for a second looking at her skin. Little rays of light blue drifted in her skin and she became a beacon of a clear sky. Every time she moved her arms, some color would shift in waves on her skin. She stood up and started to dance and light blue surrounded her.
"Girl, you look like a walking diamond," Morgan laughed.
Charlotte sat down and kept looking at her skin. The color was so beautiful, she did not want to take her eyes off for a second.
All around her, the colors started to fade and everyone was once again thrown into darkness.
