Lucy Pevensie
Once we got close to Beaver's home, I got off of Adelaide and she turned back into her human form. I caught Peter staring at her as we finished our walk.
"Beaver? Is that you? I've been worried sick! If I find out you've been with badger again--" we hear then see another beaver.
She gasps, seeing us all.
"Oh those aren't badgers! Oh I never thought I'd live to see this day! My, my... look at my fur! You couldn't give me 10 minutes warning?" She asks Beaver.
"I would've given you a whole week if I thought it would've helped." Beaver says.
I giggle and Adelaide strokes my hair.
"Your majesty! It's truly an honor!" The female Beaver says, bowing to Adelaide.
"Please, Mrs. Beaver, no need for formalities. Rise." Adelaide says.
Mrs. Beaver stands with a smile.
"My, my, you are more beautiful in person." Mrs. Beaver says to Adelaide.
Adelaide smiles.
"Thank you, Mrs. Beaver. You're very kind." Adelaide says.
"Come on inside. I've got dinner ready." Mrs. Beaver says.
We all go inside their home and sit down. Adelaide sat in between Peter and Mr. Beaver.
"Isn't there anything we can do to save Tumnus?" Peter asks.
"They would've taken him to the witches house. And you know what I say. There's few that go through them gates that come out again." Mr. Beaver says.
"Fish and chips!" Mrs. Beaver says, nervously, placing a plate down in front of me.
"But there is hope dear. Lots of hope." Mrs. Beaver says then turns to Mr. Beaver.
"Oh yeah! There's a right bit more than hope..." Beaver says.
Beaver then turns to Adelaide, whom smiles and gives a single nod.
"Aslan is on the move." Beaver says.
"Who's Aslan?" Edmund asks.
Beaver laughs.
"Who's Aslan? You cheeky little blinder." Beaver says, chucking until Mrs. Beaver taps him.
"What?" Beaver asks then sees our faces.
"You really don't know do ya?" Beaver asks.
"We haven't exactly been here very long." Peter says.
"Well he's only the king of the whole wood. The top gazer. Princess Adelaide's father. The real king of Narnia." Beaver says.
"He's been away for a long while." Mrs. Beaver says.
"But he's just got back! As has Princess Adelaide! She's sitting right next to ya! Aslan is waiting for you near the stone table!" Beaver says.
"He's waiting for us?" I ask.
"You're blooming joking! They don't even know about the prophecy!" Beaver exclaims.
"Well... then..." Mrs. Beaver says.
"Look... Aslan & Adelaide's return. Tumnus arrest. The secret police... is all happening because of you!" Beaver says.
"You're blaming us?" Susan asks.
"No! Not blaming! Thanking you." Mrs. Beaver says.
"There's a prophecy. When Adams flesh and Adams bone sits at Cair Paravel in throne, alongside the princess, the evil time will be over and done." Beaver says.
"You know that doesn't really rhyme." Susan says.
"No I know it don't. You're kind of missing the point!" Beaver says.
"It has been long foretold that two sons of Adam and two daughters of Eve will aid Princess Adelaide in defeating the white witch and restore peace to Narnia." Mrs. Beaver says.
"And you think we're the ones?" Peter asks.
"Well you better be cuz Aslan's already figured out your army!" Beaver says.
"Our army?!" I ask.
"Mum sent us away so we wouldn't get caught up in a war." Susan tells Peter.
I see Adelaide looking hurt and upset. I don't think she and Susan will get along very well.
"I think you've made a mistake. We're not heroes." Peter says.
"We're from Finchley!" Susan says.
Adelaide sighs from her spot as the beavers exchange looks.
"Thank you for your hospitality. But we really have to go!" Susan says.
"You can't just leave!" Mr. Beaver says.
"He's right! We have to help Mr. Tumnus." I say.
"It's out of our hands. I'm sorry... but it's time for the four of us to be getting home." Peter says.
Adelaide looked sad and hurt. As well as very upset.
"Ed? Ed?" I hear and turn to see that Edmund was missing.
"I'm gonna kill him." Peter says.
"You may not have to." Beaver says and all eyes go to him.
"Has Edmund ever been in Narnia before?" Beaver asks then turns to Adelaide.
I gasp and turn to Adelaide as well. Her eyes widened then jumps to her feet. She runs out and we all follow her.
