Lucy Pevensie
We were running through the woods. Adelaide kept me close. She had a firm grip on my hand.
"Hurry!" Peter says.
We finally came to a stop and see Edmund walk into a castle surrounded by ice.
"EDMUND!" I yell.
Adelaide crouches next to me with her hand over mouth, shushing me. Peter tries to run after Edmund but both Beaver and Adelaide grab him, shouting "No!"
"Get off me!" Peter says then pushes Beaver off of him.
Adelaide lets him go.
"You'll be playing into her hands!" Beaver yells.
"We can't just let him go!" Susan says.
"He's our brother!" I say.
"He's the bait! The witch wants all four of ya! If she sees Princess Adelaide, she'll try to take her too! That's who she wants as well!" Beaver says.
"Why?!" Peter asks.
"To top the prophecy from coming true! To kill ya!" Beaver shouts.
I gasp, grabbing Adelaide's hand.
"This is all your fault!" Susan shouts at Peter.
I saw Adelaide get protective. Like she was mad at Susan for yelling at Peter.
"My fault?!" Peter asks, turning to her.
"None of this would've happened if you had just listened to me in the first place!" Susan says.
"Oh so you knew this would happen?" Peter asks.
"I didn't know what would happen. Which is why we should have left while we still could!" Susan says.
"Stop it!!" Adelaide and I yell.
They look at us.
"This isn't going to help Edmund." I say.
"She's right.... only Aslan and Princess Adelaide can help your brother now." Beaver says.
"You're right here. Help us!" Susan says.
"As powerful and skilled as I am, I cannot take the witch and her castle of servants with only my fighting skills. The rest of my powers and my weapons are with my father. I must get to him and get my weapons in order to even think about walking into that castle and saving your brother." Adelaide says.
"Then take us to him." Peter says.
We all turn to the castle.
"I'll get a head start. I have a connection to my father. I'll let him know the prophecy is taking place and that you're on your way." Adelaide says.
"You're just going to leave us?" Susan asks.
"For now. The beavers will get you there." Adelaide says.
"Addie!" I say and she turns to me.
"You're necklace." I say.
She smiles and comes over to me then kneels down to me.
"Keep it. This way..." she trails off giving me a look.
I lightly smile.
"This way we'll have to see each other again." I say, remembering what she said last time.
"I will always be there for you, Lucy Pevensie. Always and Forever." She says.
I smile and hug her. She hugs me back.
"You can contact me with this too. Same thing. The tone of your voice will let me know how you're feeling." Adelaide says.
I nod.
She smiles then stands and walks me over to Peter.
"Be careful. Narnia is not the same place it once was. With the white witches changes, it's become dangerous in certain parts. Stick together, don't fall behind. It could mean certain death. If you need to contact me, let Lucy know." Adelaide says.
Peter and Susan nod. Adelaide takes one of their hands.
"I'm so sorry this has happened. I will do everything in my power to get your brother back to you. Even if I must give my life for his." Adelaide says.
"What?" They ask, almost horrified at the last part.
"It is my duty to protect my people. That includes you four. You may be kings and queens along with I... but I'm a higher stand. Not to gloat or anything, it's what I'm destined as. I'm not just a princess, soon queen. I'm also the guardian and healer of Narnia." Adelaide says.
They were silent.
"Please be careful." Peter says to her.
Adelaide smiles then kisses his cheek.
"You all be careful as well. I'll see you at the camp." Adelaide says and we all nod.
Adelaide then turns and transforms into a lioness then runs off.
I hug Peter and he holds me close to him. Then we begin our journey.
