(Minori's POV)

"Hey, Minori! I just needed to come see you!" Hikaru exclaimed as he came into my house.

It's been a week and four days since I've spoken to Hikaru at all, or even seen him! Lately we've just avoided one another, especially since I've been hanging out with Tori's friends more and more. Tori and I go out on weekdays and I'm normally hanging out at her house.

Tori lives with her two cousins and little sister at the moment. Their just houseguest she says. I kind of doubt that, since Anita is always working hard to please her older sister. I get the feeling Tori isn't going to be able to part with the kid...

I've kind of gotten attached to all of them!

"Come in and take a seat Hikaru! I was just starting to make myself some tuna sandwiches, do you want one?" I asked trying to be polite.

I wasn't mad at him anymore, instead, I felt oddly uncomfortable in his presence now.

"Yeah sure." Hikaru answered with a wary look on his face.

I hummed a little as I prepared the sandwiches. I had already taken out everything I needed, and just had to make them. Finally when I was done, I gave him a sandwich on a plate.

"Thanks." He told me as he grabbed it and took a bite of it.

We ate in silence with only our munching to be heard.

"So, I guess we're not friends now, huh?" Hikaru asked as he placed his half eaten sandwich on the plate and glumly stared at it.

I swallowed a chunk of sandwich trying not to choke.

"Hikaru, we don't have to be this way..." I started off, "we can still be friends, but if you insult Tori or her friends. I'll take it as a personal insult."

Hikaru seemed to take in what I said with a thoughtful expression.

"Okay, fine. We'll be friends, and I won't insult your girlfriend or her friends." Hikaru stated solemnly.

"That's great." Was all I could honestly say.

Hikaru smiled a little, but it was a sad smile.

"Before our agreement goes into affect, I have one more thing to tell you." Hikaru said, his gaze icy.

I felt a chill go down my back.

"Your girlfriend has some really nasty people after her." Hikaru stated, "They'll be on our turf sooner or later and it'll be war."

"What do you mean?" I asked feeling a panic rise inside of me.

"These people are nothing like Tori's group, and they are nothing like my group either. These people are what nightmares are made out of!" Hikaru exclaimed with a bang of his fist against the counter.

I jumped slightly.

"You don't understand now, but I know for a fact that Tori is going to tell you the truth." Hikaru said, "She won't have any other choice."

Suddenly Hikaru looked exhausted.

He stood up suddenly!

"Minori, we've known each other since we were kids..." Hikaru started up, "And I've never told you the truth before, now I'm sorry...because I honestly love you and don't want to see you get hurt."

His eyes were stricken with guilt and grief. My heart went out to him then... I probably would've forgiven him then and there for whatever it was he couldn't tell me now.

"Well, I have to go, the Student Council is holding a meeting in a couple of minutes." Hikaru stated as he snatched the sandwich from the plate and headed to the door.

I watched as he opened the door and left without so much as a goodbye. For some reason, I felt my heart break into a million pieces as I closed the door and tried to hold those pieces from falling. But they fell even as I numbly walked up the stairs and into my room. The pieces fell even as I laid in my bed and curled up into a ball. And they fell as the tears and sobs broke through...
