(Tori's POV)
"Why is he here?" Mizuki hissed out when she caught my attention after the teacher had given us an assignment.
Logan was up sharpening his pencil.
"This is his class." I said with a shrug.
"Then why wasn't he here yesterday?!" Arianna hissed out this time.
"If you want to know so badly! Why don't you ask the man himself?!" Heath hissed at them.
"Enough." Jeff stated cutting off in other remarks from them. "Tori doesn't need you all to pester her right now. She has bigger problems to handle!"
"What problems might that be?" Logan asked catching that bit of conversation as he sat down.
"Nothing that concerns you, kitty." Jeff stated firmly but had honey drip on the last bit.
I giggled at that, everyone turned to look at me.
"What?!" I snapped.
"You've never giggled before..?" Logan said it like a question.
He looked perplexed along with everyone else. I shrugged annoyed that I had let a giggle escape my lips. Of course the image of Logan as a little black leopard cub was so cute!
Logan had short-cropped black hair, blue-green eyes, and dark tan skin. If a person looked closer, they'd find little leopard patterned like designs on his skin. His body was sturdy and muscular. I've seen him only once before in his leopard form, and there was nothing cute or cuddly about it. Unlike me, he was a pure blood were from the were-leopard tribe of South America.
And I would never have been able to imagine him as a kitten through all my anger...
I wondered if I was finally somehow getting over the past.
"Hmm..." Logan suddenly leaned over to me, "Maybe I should let you have this mate, but if you reject her as well. Have no doubt that Baird and I will take her."
I bristled at his threat.
"Don't worry." He said as he leaned away from me, "It's an if."
"You cannot blame me for rejecting Baird and you. We were just thirteen! To young for promises of forever!" I huffed out, "But now I'm seventeen, old enough to understand my mistakes."
The last sentence I said solemnly.
"Are you admitting that you rejecting us had been a mistake?!" Logan asked in disbelief.
I bowed my head in shame, "Yes."
I finally acknowledged that the loneliness that I felt now and then could've been avoided. And the pain I felt each time when I saw Baird and Logan together in the hallways could've also been avoided. So could've all the other mistakes, but being young caused a lot of mistakes anyhow.
Everyone was staring at me in utter disbelief now.
"Mr. Willard?!" A lady asked on the intercom suddenly.
"Yes?!" Mr. Willard responded.
"Please send Ms. Saul to the office!" The lady on the intercom ordered.
My friends exchanged looks, while Logan simply stared at me.
"Of course." Mr. Willard said then looked at me, "You heard, Victoria! Go to the office."
I gathered my things and headed out the classroom without a word to my friends, or Logan.
I couldn't help but wonder what new trouble had fallen my way.
