Chapter 26 "Spikey snowball!"

(Tori's POV)

"Ugh." I groaned out.

My head felt like there was a monkey with a gong running around it...

"She's waking up!" Someone who sounded oddly just like Cole said...

So, you're finally with the living, and here I was hoping you had died. The beast growled out smugly.

I blinked once, twice, and three times before my eyes started clearing up.

As if you could live without me! I retorted, but then moaned when the pain in my head intensified.

"Oh god... Kill me now!" I groaned out as I suddenly shot straight up and grabbed my stomach before I ended up barfing.

I barfed right on Cole.

"Yuck! So this is what I get for looking after you?!" Cole exclaimed disgusted, but I could swear his eyes held a certain glint of...

Mirth?!

"Holy Saints!" Someone else exclaimed and I suddenly heard another person barf.

I looked around to see that Hikaru had barfed all over the floor. Though I got the feeling the old man close by him would've gotten vomit all over himself if he hadn't been trained to predict outcomes like these. Hunters, what else are they good for?

"Umm... Are you all done barfing?" Arianna asked as she came into the room.

One look at her, and I knew she was furious!

Oh, shit.

I glanced at Cole with a pleading look. The bastard, damn him, just shrugged. I looked around the small infirmary and recognized it as part of Mizuki's place...

Oh, double hell!

"Ah, I can explain!" I started out as Arianna approached me.

"It better be good." Arianna said with a glare.

"Well, ah," I said trying to look around for an escape route, then chanced on one of the tables.

It had a bowl full of cookies...

"Umm... Want a cookie?" I asked cringing inwardly.

"Victoria!" Arianna screeched with the full intent of slapping me.

Of course, that's when my stomach feels the need to barf up the rest of my food all over Arianna.

"Oh god, I am so sorry!" I apologized pitifully, then quietly to Cole, "Please get me out of here!"

"What the heck happened here?!" Mizuki exclaimed as she came in.

"As you can probably see, your two patients are sick." The old man stated with a smirk.

He was starting to really bug me.

"Yeah, and it seems Tori decided that Cole and me were suitable barf dummies." Arianna said with a glare that could kill.

"Hey! I can't help it if I'm gonna puke. At least you should've seen it coming, being a High Priestess Sorceress and all!" I countered with a snort.

"Grr..." Arianna actually gritted her teeth as she suddenly formed a snowball in the palm of her hand.

Hey, at least it wasn't a sharp icicle... Oh. Spoke to soon.

The snowball suddenly had a bunch of sharp tipped icicles protruding from out of it.

"Of shit!" I said taking cover.

Did I mention that Nicneven was the Goddess of Winter?

Well now's a good time as any to mention that!

"Oh come on! Arianna do you seriously want to hurt a person who is sworn to protect you?" A new voice suddenly asked.

Oh, thank god for Heath!

"Hey, Tori?! You okay? We heard about the Binding..." Jeff exclaimed.

I was barely going to take a peek from behind Cole when the spikey snowball flew right past my head! Missing by a mere few centimeters! Oh, shit, I guess Arianna was still mad.

"Hey! Watch that! It's not my fault Tori's acting weirder than usual!" Cole exclaimed with his arms raised in surrender.

"Weird?" I asked myself softly, and tried to figure out what he meant by weird.

Then my eyes-widened in sudden realization...
