(Minori's POV)
I felt guilty for disobeying Cole, but I at least needed to know that Hikaru was alright. So when I arrived at his house, I sure wasn't expecting his older sister to answer! After all, they all had an eight o'clock curfew...but here was Naga Garth completely dressed!
"Oh." Naga said with a disappointed look, "It's you."
Her voice was flat.
"Is everything okay?" I asked taken aback by her cold attitude toward me.
"No, everything is not okay, and it's all your fault!" Naga suddenly hissed out, "Now my little brother has to be tied to a goddamn monster! And it's all because of you!"
"What?!" I exclaimed stunned.
"My little brother is tied to that beast! Victoria Saul! Do you have any idea what that means to this family?!" Naga hissed out looking ready to hit me, her usual black eyes suddenly flashing a dark red!
I gaped.
"Now you know, everyone associated with this family, Hikaru, and me are hunters... The Hunters!" Naga exclaimed loudly, "We hunt down things like your goddamn Victoria! Because of those creatures, my people have lived with one foot in the human world and another in the other world!"
"No, it can't be..." I whispered in horror.
"Oh, it's all true, just ask Hikaru when you see him later, or better yet ask Victoria Saul!" Naga stated with triumph, "Now goodbye!"
She slammed the door in my face.
I was simply frozen to my spot in shock. Then my body started shaking in uncontrollably... I had to move!
The mere fact that my kind actually existed, and that there were hunters that hunted my kind down should have had me running for the hills! But why didn't I feel like running in terror? Instead, why did I feel like leaping in complete joy, and letting the world know how happy I am?!
Oh, I was so messed up!
We will run. The beast inside of me howled out in joy. And soon we will be with kind!
Yes, I said in agreement, we will run.
