I woke up feeling relaxed and refreshed. I could hear the sound of a vacuum downstairs but Nick was right beside me. I woke him; scared that someone was in the house unauthorized.

"Good morning," he yawned, pulling me to him, burying his face in my neck.

"I hear noise downstairs." I whispered.

"The help." he mumbled.

"You have maids?"

"Only when I have parties, and everyday in between that," he grumbled as he stretched.

"Who are you?" I asked seriously. "That's a lot of money."

"If you say so." He got up from the bed and went to the washroom to wash up. "Destiny?"

"Yes?" I responded cautiously. He rarely referred to me by my name.

"Are you a virgin?'

I was silent and suddenly shy in my own skin. "Is there a problem?"

"Are you?"

"Yes, Nick, I'm a virgin. So what?" I asked timidly.

"Nothing, we should get ready to head out."

I rolled off the bed and brushed my teeth with his toothbrush. He didn't protest, he just watched me like he usually did. He wiped his face and ran water through his hair. "You're 21."

"So what?" I washed my face and got out of the washroom as quickly as I could.

"No one's ever... you know?" He followed me out, grabbing his shirt from the chair in the corner.

"No, I don't know Nick. What?"

"Sorry, I shouldn't be asking." He shook his head and collected his car keys. I followed him out of the house annoyed and irritated. He walked me to my dorm and watched me enter without a move towards me. I've never been so upset at my sexual status and I was even more upset with him.

I showered and went to Ginny's dorm where she and Steph were watching tv. I told them the entire story.

"Usually men are happy when you're a virgin." Steph mumbled as she took a chip into her mouth.

"Well not him and it's irritating me. I don't know what he wants." I was going crazy. I didn't know what he wanted from me. Or if he even wanted me.

"Let's get your mind off that." Ginny started talking about random things, mainly about how things were going with the Polo player she met at the event months ago.

The weekend was almost done and I had a paper due Monday. I spent the entire Saturday with my girls for the first time in a long time. We ordered take out and watched movies for hours. I slept on her couch while Steph took the other half of her bed. In the morning, I headed home to freshen up, grabbed my notes and laptop, and headed to the library for the day.

I finished my paper due the next day and the outlines for two more papers. It was a very productive day.

It was dark when I finished but I still decided to go for a walk to settle my head. I ended up at the pier like I usually did when I walked. It was three miles away from campus and worth the wait. I sat and stopped thinking, enjoying the silence in the world.

When I got back in, I went straight to sleep.my alarm didn't wake me up, I slept right though it. I hurried to get ready and then headed out to class. I ran through the rain, not having time to go back for my umbrella.
