"You were never invited. What are you doing here? Security!" the voice was barely auditable over the loud music, but people turned to me in shook.
I ran as fast as my heels could carry me and bolted down the stairs two at a time. I couldn't believe I accepted this dare. These sorority parties were exclusive, and my name would never make the list. I had snuck in through the back and lasted a total of 15 minutes before being spotted.
"Stop!" came a harsh voice, but I did the opposite of that. I ran faster. I saw the men's washroom and ran for cover, hoping that it would be the last place they would think of looking for me. I was in the student hall building, trapped inside the men's washroom in a tiny stall. What on earth was I thinking?
I sat on the toilet as I tried to catch my shallow breath, massaging my ankles. I stopped when I heard the door open five minutes later, terrified it was security figuring me out.
"Hello?" the person called. Did they really think I would answer? "Anyone in here?"
I held my feet to my stomach, praying they didn't open the stall doors just to be safe. The silence was deafening. I heard the running water and then the sudden pacing along the room.
"The truth is... No, the fact... I have learned a lot and I continue... I don't want to leave." He sounded as if he was practicing a speech or a plea. He tapped the marble counter with what sounded like a ring and turned on the tap once more.
I took off my heels as I prayed for him to finish up and leave. Ten minutes in, the speech went on and seemed to be forever lasting.
"I'm not ready to leave all this behind..." he muttered under his breath, sighing hard. I gave up, praying I could still make an exit and avoid social suicide. I opened the stall door slowly and apologetically.
His head flicked around in surprise and shock, our eyes meeting. His hair was brown with blond highlights faintly bringing out the colour in his eyes. He seemed like the typical frat boy. He wore a leather jacket over dark denim jeans and a white shirt.
I carried my heels in my hand as I took my walk of shame to the sink to wash my hands.
"I didn't think anyone was in here." He mumbled with a hint of fascination on his face, along with embarrassment. "What were you doing in there for so long?"
"Yeah, I was going to answer," I lied. "But then you started talking. Before I knew it, it got personal. And let's not forget that I'm not supposed to be here."
"In the bathroom." he smirked, his eyes still on my face, searching.
"Yeah, and the party." I muttered under my breath.
"The party?" He stepped a little closer as if he couldn't see me from where he stood. "I can get you in." he promised, his eyes twinkling.
"No, I was... just being chased out." I smiled. He caught my smile and gave me a gorgeous one in return. My heart fluttered. We were locked in eye contact, neither of us wavering or looking away.
I gripped his jacket and elevated my body on my toes up to his mouth, placing mine to his. If I was doing things out of character tonight, then I might as well keep it going. It was an in the moment decision. To my surprise, he pulled me closer before taking my lips between his teeth gently suckling it.
I pulled away mortified and ecstatic at the same time. He was probably drunk; I could taste the Hennessey on his tongue. But what was my excuse?
I grabbed my heels and hurried to the door as my adrenaline spiked.
"Not so fast." He grabbed my hand and spun me around. "Your name." He wasn't asking.
