December

This friend thing was basically pointless. We stopped kissing and touching, but his words only had more effect over me. We didn't have anymore sleepovers since the last night, a month and a half ago, but we had lunch everyday together. Except today.
He didn't show up.

We had a disagreement the last time I saw him, but I knew that could never come between us. I ate my lunch alone and then headed to class. I had the afternoon off, so I would finally work on papers that were due in a couple weeks.

During class, I could hear his voice in the corridor. It was echoing from the end of the walkway. I couldn't help myself but to leave class in order to see him.

He was finished with classes for the day. He sat on the flower stones that decorated the garden area in the courtyard. His friends were re-enacting a scene that happened earlier and they were all laughing. I walked over to them, comfortable with them at this point.

"You missed our lunch... date." I mumbled, happy to see his wind blown hair and his rosy cheeks. I was head over heals for him, and I knew it was a dangerous game to play but It was already done.

"Hey Destiny," His friends greeted before continuing with a separate conversation of their own.

"Hey guys," I smiled before turning back to him.

"They wanted to have lunch at the country club. It was a team thing." He apologized. He didn't offer anything else, so I took it.

"Okay," I said as I turned to head back to class. He caught up to me and held my arm, intertwining our fingers.

"Desi," He sighed in a whisper.

"You could have sent a text or something." I muttered calmly. I was happy that he was okay, especially since I was slightly worried about where he could be.

"Yes, you're right, but it didn't cross my mind. I was planning to spend the entire afternoon with you." He moved the hair from my face without touching my skin. I pouted and he sighed. "I want to kiss you." He grumbled before taking a step back in Order to break the tension. His smile returned to his face after a long minute, and my heart lit up again. "I will walk you to your dorm after class, alright?"

"Okay," I brushed his arm when I walked by him on my way to class. "I can't wait."

His eyes followed me down the corridor, as he ran his fingers through his hair, his lips slightly apart.

When class was finished, he met me at the door and took my books, then walked me home. When we got in, he sat on the bed and watched me change, and fix my hair.

"Up or down?" I asked.

"Either is fine."

"Just fine? Not good?"

"Love, it's good."

"Just good?" I responded. He gave me a annoyed look as he turned his back to me, retrieving his phone. I sighed and then pinned it up.

"Why didn't you leave it down?" he asked when he finally looked up from the screen.

"Didn't I ask you-" I began.

"I'm kidding, Desi." He burst out into laughter, clearly enjoying my annoyance. "You'd still be beautiful even, if you were bald."

I rolled my eyes at him as he stood up, held my waist and kissed my cheek, lingering longer than usual.

When we got into his convertible Porsche, he started the engine. I had no idea where we were going as he avoided the highway, and drove along the beach. He held my hand when we stopped at the stoplight. The sun was setting and the ocean breeze was calming. I relaxed into the seat and gazed at the water, every now and then glancing over at Nick's waiting eyes.
