LOST HOPE
She hoped. Even though it didn't her any good, she still hoped. Hoped through the despair of losing her one and only brother. Hoped when her parents had left her in the streets to suffer. Hoped when her one and only friend died to save her. Hoped, for it was the only thing that led her, through the darkness and when there was light; hoped when everything she did was never right. But what had hope done for her? Nothing.
She hoped even when there was nothing to yearn for.
Hoped even when the reality was bitter.
Hoped even when there was nothing to do but cry and watch his blood run dry. She hoped that he wouldn't die, that he wouldn't leave her here. Even when the silver blade ran through his heart, and she stood transfixed to the ground, watching with wide eyes, unable to believe that this was her fate; to be left alone in this world, to have nothing that truly belonged to her. But when they laughed a bitter laugh, she hoped that she would wake up from this nightmare fantasy, but she didn't, and that was when she knew.
She was left alone to die.
Alone.
For eternity.
And so she screamed and screamed and screamed; a sound of raw pain filled with pure agony, until her throat hurt and her screams diminished into a wail, until her voice failed her and she turned to cry, but nothing ever came.
Nothing but the promise of revenge that filled her heart.
