Fly

It flew away
The moments they shared
The hearts that they broke
The words that they uttered
The souls they'd scattered
The worlds that they shattered

The lifetime they'd spent forgetting
All for nothing
Because it all came back; too quickly
It was too much to handle
To process
But the weight on their shoulders lightened
The burden on top of them now non-existent

The clock ticked and their moments flew
As their hurt grew
And time was now at a standstill
Until they could bear no longer
And forgot how to breathe;
Reaching for the unreachable
