Soulmates are Stupid: chapter 6

Do you go on YouTube? Dan asked Phil two days after he discovered the channel.

Yeah, I do, why? Phil responded.

My new favourite YouTuber is AmazingPhil.

I'll go check the channel out!

It was Christmas Eve, and Dan hoped that the next day, Phil would tell his identity. Dan's hopes were little, though.

On the 23rd, Adrian told Linda and Gregory about being asexual.

Dan's parents took it well. But through Dan's eyes, Dan could tell that his mother was not happy about having one of her son's have a male soulmate and the other not having one at all.

On Christmas Eve, however, Linda seemed totally happy.

Dan's distant relatives--like aunts and uncles and grandparents etc.--came over to the household before dinner.  

"How's Uni been for you, Daniel?" Dan's uncle, Liam, asked.

"It's been okay. I heard my soulmate's voice in the middle of class earlier this week," Dan said. 

"What!" Everyone stopped in their tracks to look at Dan. 

"You heard your soulmate!" Liam's wife, Katherine, asked. 

"Yeah," Dan said honestly. 

"Are you sure?" Dan's grandmother, Carol, asked. 

"Positive."

"Did you celebrate?"

"I fell asleep."

Dan's family wasn't helping the situation of Dan being annoyed at the fact he missed University (he never thought he'd say that) and the comfort of his dormitory. Mainly, Dan wanted to get away from his grandmother smoking and Adrian's panic attacks. 

At around 9:30 pm, the commotion of Dan's soulmate died down and people started to fall asleep. Dan noticed people were starting to disappear and he ran to his bedroom. 

He flopped onto his bed and let sleep take over his body.

In the morning, Dan felt a pain in his leg. Of course, it was asleep. The blood flow had slowed down. Dan shook the limb frantically, trying to make it become felt. After a couple of moments, Dan felt it again and relief spread throughout his body. 

Dan stood up and stumbled to the staircase, forgetting that it was Christmas Day. 

Adrian came out of his room and launched onto Dan, almost making the both of them fall down the staircase.

"Adrian!" Dan said, trying not to laugh. "Why did you almost make us break our legs‽"

Adrian laughed. "It's Christmas, Dan!" 

Dan's eyes widened. "I completely forgot."

"Nice job Daniel."

Dan's brother went downstairs. Dan went downstairs as well, but communicated with Phil.

Merry Christmas, soulmate! Dan mind-said. 

Merry Christmas, Dan! Phil replied. I'm gonna give you a hint of my name, you've met me before.

Dan smiled, but his smile faltered as he remembered that he already knew Phil's name, and Phil giving him hints are just stupid. 

Dan made his way to the living room where all the Howells were (the ones who stayed overnight).

"It took you long enough to wake up, Dan," Dan's mother said, placing her hands onto her hips. 

"Sorry, Mum," Dan responded. He went over to where Adrian was and sat down. 

People were handing gifts for each person by the time Dan sat down. 

Boxes were in all shapes: big, small and medium. Some were in a cylinder like shapes, some were in pyramids.

"So," Linda said after everybody got their presents. "Youngest go first."

That meant Dan's cousin, Adrian, Dan, Dan's aunts and uncles and, finally, Dan's parents and grandparents. 

Dan's cousins got toys and Barbie dolls, Adrian got money, gift cards and clothes. 

Dan started opening a rectangular shaped boxed and by the way the wrapping paper had a gap in it, Dan believed it was a book. He ripped the paper off and saw the book was called Soulmates are Stupid by Dr. James Brigham, a Fallen Soul. 

"Sorry, Dan," Dan's aunt, Luna, apologized. "We bought you that before we knew you had a soulmate."

Dan smiled at his aunt. "It's alright, Aunt Luna, I really wanted to read this." Dan didn't lie. He never really lied to his aunts and uncles. 

He opened the rest of his presents: clothes, Pokémon games for his DS and money. 

He thanked everyone, and he watched his family members open theirs.

When everyone finished, Dan got a dinner roll from the kitchen and ran back to the safety of his bedroom.

Do you like the new wattpad computer update?

AND I have this one-shot story called WILD (about Troye Sivan) and I was wondering if you'd want me to post it. But it's not finished yet so yeah. 

AND when this story is finished, probably not for a while, I have some more phanfics so look forwards to that, not telling you yet ;)

Also this is late because I was the doctors, and I had my first panic! attack the other day.
