Chapter 9 - Competition

"So, what should we sing?" Jai asks referring to our first youtube video.

"Um, royals? I see fire? Fix you?" I name some options.

"I like Fix You, it's by Coldplay right?" He says.

"Yeah." I reply. "Let's do that one."

"Ok." He says. We both grab our guitars and rehearse the different parts we are doing. We made pretty good guitar parts too.

"I think it sounds pretty good, lets record." He gives me a wink and I nod. We start the camera.

"Hi guys, I'm Jai Waetford." He starts.

"And I'm Charlie Cheld." I say.

"And we are going to be doing a cover of Fix You, by Coldplay." He says, then we start.

"Ok, let's edit that bit out." I say directing to the parts where you see us turn the camera on and off.

"Ok." Jai says and goes onto Youtube and clicks the upload button. The video is soon on the internet, we just have to wait for a response.

"How about we leave the video until tomorrow, then look at the views and stuff." Jai suggests and I agree. "Wanna go get some food? Maccas? I'm starving, I'll pay." He says.

"Sure. But your not paying." I say, I then get dressed and we go. We arrive at the mall and make our way to maccas. I order a small coke and chips and so does Jai. Before I could get my wallet out he has already paid.

"I'm gonna get you for that." I stare at him.

"Nahhh." He gives me a kiss on the cheek causing me to slightly blush. We get our food and sit down at a table.

"Oh my god, are you Jai Waetford!?" A girl approaches us.

"Uh yeah." He says.

"I saw your audition, it was amazing!" She says with a wide smile on her face.

"Thanks." He says.

"Can I please get a photo?" She asks.

"Of coarse." He says politely standing up as the girl takes out her phone and takes a selfie with him.

"I'm Cassi." She says. "Will I see you around again? We should hang out." She better watch out, if she steals my boyfriend.

"Yeah maybe." Jai replies.

"Ok, here's my number." She says handing him a piece of paper. "Call me sometime." She gives him a hug, waves and walks away. Jai sits back down.

"Are you actually gonna call her?" I ask him.

"I might, she seems nice." He says. Is he serious.

"Jai! She was flirting with you!" I say getting angrier.

"She was not, she was being friendly, can't I have friends that are girls?" I know exactly where this is going.

"If you really like her so much then go hang out with her right now, why wait?" I sarcastically say.

"Because I'm hanging out with my girlfriend right now." I slightly smile, but nothing he would pick up on.

"Well are you going to call her later?" I ask.

"I might, can we just drop it please?" He says.

"Whatever. Let's go home." I say standing up and walking away with him.
