Danielle's P.O.V
"Are you still awake?"
I breathed out a low groan. "How am I supposed to sleep when all I can hear is your damn phone going off every five minutes?" I asked, rolling over to see Cole's figure on the air-mattress on the floor.
And, just to prove my point, I heard his phone go off again.
"You can't be mad because I'm popular." Cole replied, grabbing his phone to turn it off.
I rolled my eyes, letting out a dry laugh. "Or it could just be one of your whores wanting you at this time of night." I bit back, watching as Cole raised an eyebrow at me.
"Jealous?" Cole asked, his lips pulling into a smirk.
I grabbed the empty cup beside my bed and threw it at him. "That's my cup of jealousy." I said, watching Cole grab the cup. "Oh, wait. It's empty." I added as Cole grinned.
"Keep rolling your eyes and maybe you'll find a brain back there."
"Look, just because your life is a joke, doesn't mean you're funny."
Cole scoffed. "At least I have women lining up for me. Where's your line?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at me.
"Dude, the women lining up for you are easy, so I don't see how that boosts your ego." I replied. "And I don't need a line of men because they're only wanting to get their dick wet. I mean, take you for example." I added, the grin spreading on my lips.
Cole rolled his eyes. "I have dated women before, princess." He replied, the annoyance dripping from his tone.
I sat up, leaning my back against the headboard. "Aw, did I hit a nerve?" I asked, watching as he rolled over, his back facing me. I took the opportunity to annoy him more as I climbed out of bed and down onto the air-mattress. "Keep rolling your eyes and maybe you'll find a brain back there." I whispered in his ear, nearly laughing at how tense Cole was.
Suddenly, he turned around, his face close to mine as the grin fell from my lips. "If I wanted a bitch, I would've bought a dog." Cole breathes out.
I could feel the tension in the room as we stayed quiet, not uttering a single word. I watched as his eyes dropped down to my lips, the features on his face softening. I gulped as he slowly moved his face closer to mine, but before he could kiss me, I placed my hand over my mouth and quickly climb back into bed.
"I don't want your diseases." I said as Cole bit down on his bottom lip to hide the grin.
I knew exactly why he was grinning, but I couldn't let him see that he nearly had me right where he wanted me.

"Hello, sleepy-head." Maya spoke as I walked into the building.
I breathe out a sigh, opening my locker. "Morning." I replied.
"Care to share your morning activity?" Maya asked, humor clear in her tone as I rolled my eyes.
"I'm honestly not in the mood." I breathed out as we began to walk to our first class.
Maya chuckled. "Let me guess: your mom dragged you down the stairs again." Maya spoke as I sighed, shaking my head.
"I wish." I muttered. "It's much worse."
Maya raised an eyebrow, curiosity in her eyes. "What?" She asked as we walked into the classroom.
Straight away, I noticed Cole.
"I'm living with him." I replied, pointing a finger at Cole.
Once Maya and I sat down at the back of the class, I could feel Maya's eyes staring into the side of my head. "Seriously?" Maya asked as I nodded, running my hands down my face.
"Dead serious."
Maya hummed. "You know, I don't see how that's a bad thing."
I couldn't help but roll my eyes. "Of course, you don't. You're too busy thinking about his face." I replied as Maya raised an eyebrow at me.
"Give me three reasons why this is bad." Maya spoke as I turned my body in the chair, facing her.
"He's arrogant, he thinks with his dick instead of his brain, and guess what I found him doing yesterday?" I asked as Maya furrowed her eyebrows.
"Jerking off?"
I shook my head. "Worse. He was in my father's room going through his things." I spoke as Maya's eyes widened.
"Students, settle down." The teacher spoke, cutting Maya off from saying another word. "I've organized for you to do a project about the book we've been reading in class. You need to point out the techniques and the themes used in the book." He continued, making every student groan as we realized where this was headed. "You're going to partner up with someone to do this."
I raised my hand, grabbing the attention of the teacher. "Sir, I don't see why we have to do it in pairs." I began, ignoring everyone who was staring at me. "The idea of being partnered up for the project is stupid. If we're going to be marked for this, shouldn't we do it individually? What if you partner up two people but one does all the work? Are you going to mark them the same?" I asked, watching as the teacher breathed out a sigh.
In most classes, I liked to speak my mind, and since I did this often, most teachers hated dealing with me. I didn't see why they had to be annoyed with it though because that's what they were being paid to do. Students were allowed to ask questions and as the teacher, they were supposed to be the one to answer it.
"Danielle, please—"
"Can we just know who we're working with already?" Cole asked, cutting him off.
I watched as the teacher sighed, walking over to his desk before sharing his screen with the bigger one in front of the classroom. As I read the names, I couldn't help but furrow my eyebrows.
"Sir?" I asked, watching as he glanced over at me. "My name isn't there." I added, hearing three other voices agree with me. I glanced around the classroom, realizing that Hailey, Taylah, and Cole's hand was up. I groaned, letting my head drop into my hands.
Hailey Richards was the school's head cheerleader, and a bitch to anyone who got on her bad side. Taylah Kennedy was the best track runner in school, but had a mean resting-bitch-face, so I didn't want to deal with her at all. Cole—well, we already know.
"Who do you want to be paired with?" The teacher asked, making my annoyance grow inside me.
Our English teacher was one sneaky bastard. He'd let you think that you could be with the person you'd want to be with, but he didn't give two-fucks. He just wanted to know who you didn't want to be paired with.
He looked over at Taylah first, and she was quick to point at Hailey.
Hailey, since she was only thinking about one thing, pointed at Cole.
Cole glanced over at me, a grin playing on his lips as he pointed over at Taylah.
I rolled my eyes, pointing at Cole.
The teacher nodded, walking over to his desk before writing down names on pieces of paper. "Here are your partners." He said, walking around to the students before handing out the paper.
As I stared at the name, I heard Maya hold back a laugh as my mouth dropped. I glanced over at Cole who still had the grin on his lips, his eyes staring into mine. I groaned, realizing that my plan hadn't worked, and the teacher had just fucked me over big time.
I had to live with the asshole, and now I've got to do a project with him.
Could my life get any worse?

Oh poor Danielle. Can she handle the fact that she has to do a project with Cole or will she find a way out?
You know what to do.
