We finally reached the palace without anymore interruptions. The land turned into a forgotten wasteland, with dried up and dead grass. Dropping leaf less trees, and wilted flowers. The whole place seemed like the perfect place if your completely evil. Which is what I'm guessing the Queens wanted. The palace it's self looked like it was made from giants shards of metal, glass, and stone. There were multiple giant spikes that formed a dome over the actual palace itself, and the palace looked caged. It was a stone palace with a tower pointed out from the center, and the rest built under and around it.
"The door is on the left side next to the watchtower there." Jett pointed to a watchtower that was on the left side of the palace. The whole area looked deserted though, where were the Queens?
"There are guards stationed around almost every hallways, so we'll have to be careful. There's magic surrounding the palace so I'll go open the door. After five minutes you have follow through and get into the courtyard, then to the dungeon." He said.
"Yeah yeah, we all know the plan." Rapunzel said Jett started to leave when Rapunzel mumbled another thing. "Just be careful." I could barley hear her correctly, but Jett seemed to hear her fine.
"Why will my princess be worried for me?" He flirted smirking at her. Rapunzel turned a bright shade of red and forced her head down.
"Just go." She said, and Jett left smiling to open the door for us. How he would be able to open it with magic, I didn't know. I really should have been the one to open it because I had magic, but Jett refused to let me or anyone else go. Which only made me more suspicious of him. I watched him walked to the walls of the palace, and around it, to the left side. I couldn't see him from here, but when the five minutes we gave him to open to door we up, we went the same way he did, hiding as much as we could, then got into the palace.
Jett was in a corner of the palace, hiding, and he put a finger to his lips then pointed his finger to say "be quiet and get down". We hid behind a column that held a bunch of bushes in a row. A guard passed by, but he didn't see us. I lifted my head over the wall, and looked for the door that Jett specified. Brown wood with a golden handle, second door to the right. I spotted it, and when I saw that the coast was clear. I made my move, and ran quietly over to the door, opening it and going inside.
I closed the door and leaned on it while standing on the steps in front of me. That was easy, almost too easy. If the Queens of Darkness were so powerful, how could they not know about four teenagers running around their guarded palace? Especially since there three of those said queens.
I walked down the steps, then heard the door open and close behind me. I whipped my self around the steps and held my hands up, feeling the need to defend myself. And to my surprise white and blue mist came from my hands. If I wasn't so focused on seeing who came through the door, I would have played with my magic the whole time.
"Don't shoot, we are friends." The voice of Belle said. I lowered my hands and through the dim light coming from downstairs, saw Rapunzel behind her. But no Jett, but I couldn't just stand here and wait, I had to find Adam. I crept down the stone steps and leaned against the wall, peeking over to see if any guards were there. But there were none.
I walked down into the dungeon, and saw that there were no guards at all. No one on watch. Why would the Queens leave the jail unguarded? Belle and Rapunzel followed behind me, looking just as confused as I was. I walked down the alleys of jail cells, ignoring the cells that held skeletons of prisoners who weren't lucky enough to escape. I heard Rapunzel hold her breath, and I walked down the lines of cells until I saw someone sitting behind one of the rusty pairs of bars.
He sat on the makeshift bed, in ragged and old royal and fancy clothes. His curly brown hair was messy and when he heard us coming, he looked at us with familiar grey eyes.
