❝ I was alone, falling free

Trying my best not to forget

What happened to us, what happened to me

What happened as I let it slip

Baby, did you forget to take your meds? ❞

-Meds, Placebo

Reasoning

❝ I was alone, falling free ❞ Ian's bipolar in season 5 skyrocketed and he felt as if he was alone and betrayed, especially when he was in the clinic. His mind was falling and he felt that no one understood- he didn't think anything was wrong with him, explaining why he was so angry when he lashed out at Mickey about "not needing a fucking caretaker"

• ❝ Trying my best not to forget; What happened to us, what happened to me; What happened as I let it slip ❞ - when you have manic bipolar, you're not consciously thinking about what is happening- see when Ian burns his hand on the grill, that wasn't a conscious decision- and your brain goes manic. This manic behavior led to a downfall in his and Mickey's relationship (seeing that he was refusing to take his medication at this time) and he there's moments where he even admits he doesn't know what's wrong with him (when he puts a knife to Kenyatta's throat, for example) and his sanity is slipping away due to this illness

• ❝ Baby, did you forget to take your meds ❞ this seemed to be the number one question asked every time Ian freaked out. Even in season 7 when he let the girl out of the straps he was asked that. I feel that he just got so sick of that question, and if you listen to the song, as someone with this illness that question pisses me off, and it's repeated over and over again as if to represent everyone else asking "are you okay?" "Did your take your meds" every time you fuckin breathe differently or something, even if it's not drastic
