August and Liyah stayed up all night talking. "So, how did you get this beautiful house and those cars?" asked Liyah. "I told you I sing and rap and hustle on the side." said August. "Well what's your hustle? " asked Liyah. "I'll tell you that when you tell me about your past. What happened to make you not believe in love?" asked August. Liyah sighed. "Well, my ex boyfriend and I were together for a while. I was head over heels for him. I thought he'd be in my life forever and a day. I was wrong. He said he loved me. But love isn't abusing me while I'm pregnant. Love isn't raping me. Love isn't sleeping with my best friend. That isn't love!" Liyah's eyes started watering up, but She wasn't going to cry. She knew She shouldn't waste her tears on a man who didn't deserve them. August was shocked. "Damn. I'm sorry to hear that. You're right. That isn't love. Love is staying up all night listening to each other's opinions or problems. Love is spending time with each other. Love is putting each other first , and not letting anything come between. Love is telling each other how you feel. Love is being there no matter what. That's what love is. I want you to know that I'll be here for you through thick and thin. I want to be the one you come home to everyday. I wanna be the one you call your man, and maybe someday your husband. I want to be the one to kiss you goodnight. I want to be the one Egypt calls Dad. I just want to be your everything. I know we just met but I felt an instant connection between us. I knew from that moment that God had sent you to me."
Those words made Liyah's day. She passionately kissed August and they cuddled on the couch the rest of the night.
