Chapter 1

~Mark's POV~

There's this girl in most of my classes at school. She's perfect. She's smart, pretty and just generally amazing. The only problem is, she seems to be hiding something from me, and everyone else... I sit next to her in quite a few lessons because almost all of our teachers put us in similar seating plans. They are so unimaginative but it works out for me, because I get to sit next to her.

I don't know her very well because, well, we never really talk. She keeps to herself most of the time, and when she does talk, it's really quietly and only for a short time. I don't push her to talk, I know that would be mean. I already know she used to get bullied a lot, but I'm not sure why. She seems so perfect to me. I don't even know when her birthday is, or whether she has any brothers or sisters. I wish she would just talk...
