~Mark's POV~

Emma didn't come into tutor this morning which confused me. I had seen Henderson go past the window towards his office while I was in tutor, which meant she had to be at school. I was annoyed because it meant that I would have to sit on my own at least half of the lessons today. As soon as I got out of tutor I texted her, asking where she was. I didn't get a reply. I became very worried about her but I tried to not to think about it, because I knew there must have been a logical reason to why she wasn't coming to lessons.

~Emma's POV~

First lesson, Master Henderson was covering a Maths lesson, which he occasionally does. I didn't expect to know anyone, but when I went into the classroom, it had Maths equations that Year 12's learn. That meant James and Chris will both be in that lesson. I panicked because they didn't know about Master Henderson at all, and I just hoped and prayed that Master Henderson wouldn't acknowledge me.

When the Sixth Formers came into class, I just sat, ignoring that they were there. Master Henderson had put me in a spare seat in the middle of the room, because Year 12 and 13 classes only usually consist of 5 - 10 people who chose to go further and do A Level Maths. The last person who came into the classroom was James. He came into the classroom in the same fashion as he goes into the majority of his lessons, late and flustered. He spends most of his time in Kielder like me, which means he has to go to the opposite side of the school for the majority of his lessons. Unlucky for me, James' seat was the one right next to mine. The first thing he did was say, "Emma, what are you doing here?" I grabbed my pencil and tried to write 'I'm not allowed to talk', on the paper in front of me, but my arm was in great pain, and I could only just feel it at this point. Once I had written it I pointed towards the paper, and he just nodded his head and got his books out of his bag. I then wrote, 'I will tell you later' on the same piece of paper and slid it towards him. He smiled and then looked towards Master Henderson who was about to speak.
"My name is Mr Henderson. Mr Sutcliffe is absent, so I will be covering your lesson for today. Now, Mr Sutcliffe left me, what seems to be a small novel, that has hundreds of equations but no answers. He has told me that you will mark all of the work you do today, in your next Maths lesson, so if you are stuck on a question, just leave it and you will go through it tomorrow. Everyone understand?" Everyone nodded their heads and started their work. Master Henderson came towards me and gave me a folder, and just said to me, "Read through it." It was a lot of theory to do with Computing, which I was completely clueless to.

~Mark's POV~

As soon as I got out of class, I texted Emma again.

Mark: Where are you?

Mark: Are you okay?

Mark: Emma...

Emma: I'm fine...

Mark: Okay. Where are you? x

Emma: I'm in school.

Mark: Why haven't you been in class?

Emma: Something happened last night and Master Henderson wants me to stay near him to make sure I'm okay.

Mark: What happened?!

Mark: Emma! Please! Tell me!

Emma: I'll tell you when I see you next.

Mark: Okay... Will I be able to see you today?

Emma: I'm not sure. I'll have to see if I can go to Kielder after school. I am just going to see if Master Henderson lets me go, because I am too scared to ask him.

Mark: Okay. Stay safe. Text me when you know. Bye. x

Emma: Bye Mark.

What happened last night that means Henderson would want her to stay with him the whole day? I really want to make sure Emma's okay...
