~Emma's POV~
Absolutely nothing happened for the rest of school. Mark was moved away from me in every lesson, but I don't think he was bothered, because he got to sit next to his best friend, Wade, while I got sit next to Ethan, who plays the violin like me. I like Ethan, and I know him quite well because we share a violin lesson. He dyed his hair blue about a year ago for charity, and we became friends over it. I'm glad that I got to sit next to Ethan, but I really wished that I could have stayed next to Mark...
~Time Skip: Last Period~
"Emma, stop being so pedantic!" Mr Earl said laughing.
"I'm sorry! It's just annoying when your grammar is incorrect on the board. You're an English teacher after all!" I was laughing so much it hurt.
"Are you saying I'm a bad English teacher Emma?"
"Yes, yes I am."
"Yeah... I am aren't I?" He said as he burst out laughing again. Mr Earl was the only teacher that I felt comfortable around. I didn't care about what the people in my class thought about me. Mr Earl is honestly the best teacher I have ever had.
"Okay class. You don't have any homework. Can't I hear a cheer?" Everyone cheered as loudly as possible, "It's the end of class now, finally..." Everyone giggled. "Put your chairs on top of the tables... Good afternoon Year 9!"
"Good afternoon Sir!" Everyone shouted together. Mr Earl's class was the only one that everyone came out energetic, even when we had him last lesson. Mr Earl dismissed us table by table, like he always does and then just before he dismissed Ethan and I he said,
"Emma, stay here for a second. Ethan, you can go." Ethan started to walk towards the door and then Mr Earl said, "After you give me a high five."
"Okay, sir." Ethan said as he giggled. He ran back, gave Mr Earl a high five and then left the room.Mr Earl leaned against the wall next to me, and then asked me,
"What happened to your arms Emma? Are you okay?"
"I'm not supposed to say, sir..."
"Is it anything to do with, Mr Henderson?" I got really quiet and murmured,
"Yes, sir..."
"What happened? I won't say anything to anyone else. I won't even tell Mr Henderson that I was talking to you."
"I was punished yesterday, sir."
"What did you do Emma?"
"I spoke to Mark, sir..."
"Did Mr Henderson tell you not to?"
"No, sir..."
"Then why did he punish you for talking to Mark?"
"I don't know, sir..."
"What did Mr Henderson do?"
"He... He... He"
"You're okay Emma. You can tell me."
"He cut my arms with a knife..." I said really quickly and then looked away.
"Are you okay? Are you in pain?"
"I am in a lot of pain, but I'm okay."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, sir."
"Okay. I'm going to guess you're going to need to go. Henderson wasn't teaching last period."
"Yes, sir."
"Bye, Emma."
"Bye... Oh, and sir? Thank you..."
"For what?"
"Talking to me. Being calm about it. Everyone else that have seen my arms have freaked out..."
"It's okay. That's what I'm here for. Teaching English and Media Studies are just a thing I do in my spare time." He shrugged which made me laugh.
"Bye, sir." I say, still laughing.
"Bye, Emma."
