Above is Sofia & Eliza
(Just picture Stormi a little older)|||
"Your mate is a delta?" I asked, sitting on the couch. Sofia sat beside me, with Eliza playing on the floor. Lots of other children were playing too, their mothers and grandmothers standing around and watching.
"Yes. It's basically like being a second beta, but with a little less responsibility and authority."
I nodded. So if a delta is yet another authoritative figure, why don't we have one? Maybe since Christian believes him and Mario and I are enough, or since we have a council to help us out too.
"So your mate is a high ranking wolf with a lot of time on his hands." I chuckled. Sofia smiled and looked down.
"You could say that."
Lena, Christian said in my head. I raised an eyebrow, despite the fact that he can't physically see me.
What do you want?
I need you down at the training grounds. Looks like we will be getting that one on one time after all.
I smirked to myself before turning back to Sofia. She was watching Eliza play with the toys, although the little girl was apart from everyone else. "Well,Christian needs me, but I'll talk to you later?"
Sofia flicked her head back to me, completely lost for a brief second. Quickly she disguised it and smiled.
"Of course, Luna."Nodding, I stood. Many people looked as I left, but by now I guess I was used to all the eyes. The uncomfortable attention, however, was not as enjoyable.
I ran back up to our room, changing into a t-shirt, leggings and some nikes. My hair was pulled into a messy bun before I threw on a light zip up.
I informed Chris that I was coming, then hurried back down and throughout the house. Nancy had met me halfway, smiling over at me. I got the feeling she wanted to talk about something, but right now wasn't exactly the best time. With somewhere to be, I nodded gently and rushed out to the fields, gazing at the large groups of men and women standing around in a circle.
They all turned my way when the wind blew their direction, carrying my scent along with it. Instantly they split, revealing the center to be Christian and another person fighting. My eyes focused to see Mario as the fighter, lunging at Christian.
I walked to the front, my hands stuffed in my pockets. Christian side stepped Mario's attack, letting the beta dig his heels into the ground. Quickly, my mate ran back at him, sliding down at the very last second and taking down Mario at the legs. He fell, surprised for half a second before jumping right back up.
Even from here, I could feel Christians arrogant smirk as Mario charged once more. I waited for him to pull another dodger, since I'm guessing that was the lesson. It seemed to be a common pattern since I arrived.
Only, Chris has his feet planted right into the ground.
Quicker than anything, he charged Mario head on, grabbing his shoulders and flipping his body right over. My mouth fell aghast as I watched him loop his arm around Mario's neck, bringing him down when Chris landed.
All around me cheers erupted as Mario lay defeated on the ground. Smiling, I clapped, impressed with the sudden move. The intricacy and effort he put into the attack was enough to scare a person away from challenging the alpha, let alone an entire pack he himself trained.
Christian held out his hand for Mario, who took it and jumped right back up. He had a smirk on his face, despite being bested, but it was a good type of smirk. Mario accepted the defeat, because it was all part of training and never really meant harm. How can someone so bold take that so easily?
Unless he wasn't.
Christian was standing just in front of his beta, who was smirking deviously as he broadened his chest. My eyes followed every little move he made as he readied himself to charge Chris again.
As quick as Mario lunged, I raced forward, stepping between him and my mate.
Mario tried to dodge and duck, but I already had my leg out, tripping him. Just before he could fall, I mustered all the strength I had and caught him, flipping his back on the dirt, just as it was before he tried this little trick.
I looked up, seeing Chris smirk at me.
"And my beautifully strong luna, will be here to guide you as well. Of course, we'll have to teach her the Bade ways."
He stalked over to me, wrapping one sly arm around my waist. I rolled my eyes as he held his hand out for Mario. Quickly he took it, pulling up his body using Christian's strength.
"First things first," Christian exclaimed. The crowd all around us, which had been murmuring excitedly, froze. The multiple conversations had all gone dead silent, attention lingering on the alpha.
Chris turned to me, pushing one single hair behind my ear. "Let's show her how this pack handles things."
