"What's the status on the rogues?" Christian asked. We were in a large meeting room, with a dark mahogany table running through the center. Christian sat at the very front, facing tons of important elders and leaders. I sat to his left, Mario to his right. Next to me sat Nancy and her brother in law. Despite living here for almost a year now, I had never really talked to him. The most I knew was that his name was Bruce and he was the brother of the alpha before Christian came of age.

"They've retreated once again, gathering back about fifty miles south of here."

"Why go south?" I asked, glancing from the man who spoke to Chris. Frustrated, he shook his head and pushed himself up from the table.

"I don't know." He muttered, running his hands through his hair. "I don't know." He repeated, turning around and facing the wall. Ever since I began to spend more time with him, I've noticed he's grown more frustrated, more anxious to solve this rogue problem. To him they're the only thing he needs to focus on, to exterminate. They were nothing more than ants in an unwanted house.

Mario sighed,  knowing that he couldn't please Christian with comforting words. "It's not explainable, Alpha. We've sent spies down to go undercover, but until we get anything back from them," he stopped everyone knowing how that sentence would end.

"When word reaches back I want to hear it immediately. My luna and I are to know first." Christian said. I stood up, nodding my head.

"Send word to the spies that we will want to be hearing from them soon." I commanded the group situated around the table. Everyone nodded, Mario standing up as well. "Good. Then this meeting is adjourned."

One by one elders and other high ranked wolves filed out of the room, leaving just Mario, Christian, and I alone.

"This isn't acceptable. I'm the strongest alpha in the region and I'm sitting here hiding behind closed doors like some child!"

Christian's frustration seemed to grow immensely once I had begun to spend more time with him. When we were alone, one of the only things he'd talk about was how he'd kill that rogue, not just for the pack, but for me. I don't know if this is just his frustration speaking or if his old self is coming out again.

"We'll know more soon-" Mario started. I gave him a gentle look and shook my head. Silently I mouthed to him, "I got this".

Mario left without another word. Now it was just me and Chris alone in the giant red room with an almost equally giant table. He still paced anxiously, one hand playing at his lip while he thought. If only he would know that things will be solved eventually, if in their own time.

"Chris," I said, crossing my arms and leaning back against the table. My eyes were trained in his movements, flickering back and forth over and over. "Christian!" I repeated, a little more forceful. This time he stopped, looking my way with huge eyes. He came to an abrupt halt, as if he were slamming on invisible brakes. For once he stood still, still messing his with his lips, but he was frozen.

"You can't focus all of your energy on finding this rogue." I said, pushing myself forward and slowly approaching him. "We need to run the pack too. Besides, the bastard's gone for now."

"Yes but I'm here risking my own pack! I can't keep sending men out there when there's a chance they'll die? What sort of alpha am I to do that?"

"You're not the sort of alpha that does that. These people, our people, they do this for the good of the pack. They don't do it because you tell them to, they do it because this is their home, their family." Gently I grabbed the sides of his shirt. "And a wolf fights for its family."

He sighed, reaching up and grabbing either cheek. Slowly, relaxed, he let his forehead fall on mine. Warm breaths escaped his mouth, warming up my cheek and tickling my nose with the mintiness.

"Thank the moon goddess you're back." He murmured. I smiled, grabbing his hands and bring them down to our waists.

"Yeah." Smiling, I bit my lip and lifted my chin up. I pressed my lips against his, fluttering at the feeling of the electric tingles that shocked my entire body. Chris wrapped his arms behind me, letting him pull me even closer against his body.

I smiled and pulled back.

"Why do you always do that?" He hissed, trying to continue the kiss longer. He managed a small peck before I fully pushed him away, chuckling.

"Because I'd rather save that for later." Smirking, I winked, grabbing his hand and tugging him out the door.

"But there will be a later?" He asked, trailing behind like a lost puppy. I laughed, choosing not to reply to that. I don't want to guarantee anything. Watching him complain like a little child is way better.

"Lena," he pushed. Rolling my eyes, I quickly turned and pushed him against the wall. Surprised, he raised an eyebrow and watched me. To him I was probably acting crazy, but who cares. No ones around to see anyways.

"I guess that's up to you, Mr. Bade." I whispered, messing with his shirt in a playful manner. Chris' lost expression turned cocky as a smirk crept onto his lips. Quicker than a bullet he flipped us around, using both hands to hold himself against the wall.

"I say there'll be a now."

"Mmhm?" I hummed, reaching up for his neck. I causally looped my fingers in his hair, messing with the ends and staring him in the eyes.

"Mmhm." He agreed, leaning down and kissing me. This time the kiss was harder, more aggressive and demanding. He was certain of what he wanted, maybe even what I wanted. We both had spent too much time away from each other not to at this point.

I grabbed his back, pressing my body onto his. Their was no space left in between, and I mean none. Our proximity literally made it impossible not to feel everything. That included the giant bulge pressing against my leg.

Chris deepened the kiss, biting my lip and sliding one hand down my cheek and just under my breast. Slyly, he began leaving a trail of little kisses down my jaw and neck. Tingles spread from each kiss, sending out a wave of euphoria. I had to bite my lip to keep the moan from escaping my mouth.

Hot breaths warmed up my neck, especially as lingered just above my collar bone. I grabbed his neck wanting him to go lower. Out in the hallway, I knew that was impossible.

"Let's go somewhere else." I whispered, breathing heavily. Chris nodded, standing straight up. Smirking, I watched a cocky glint in his eye sparkle as he grabbed my hand. Very quickly he tugged me away from the hall and towards the staircase.

Now's one of those times when I'm really glad to be mated to Christian Bade.
